  1. Resort guests are typically not permitted to ride a lift without a board or skis.  The person you saw was most likely a lift operator who was on the way up the hill for a shift.  They may have taken their board up so they could ride down when the shift was over.

  2. In America, i never saw anyone ever do this, they have it strapped and slide down at the end.

However, when i went to a resort in korea, its optional to what you do. you can take it off or keep it on and slide down. The chairlift slows down in the end too.

  3. Not that I've ever heard of - they usually require that you be able to slide down the exit ramp.

I've only seen ski patrol and staff do this.

    Good Luck

  4. no no no

my dad works at resort and if you tried that they would stop the lift and wait for you to put it on

  5. this completely depends on the lifty.

  6. I've only seen it when someone is coming DOWN on the lift.

probably depends on the mountain and lift crew, but I'd venture to say that they won't let you on without one foot in the bingings as a board would probably split someone in two falling off a lift, and the resorts are already scared to death of getting sued.
