Are you allowed to get your named engraved in the back of the iPhone?

I was wanting too....and yes i finally found a store that had an iPhone so i have one!

  1. Umm... if you own the phone, you are allowed to do pretty much anything to it, including engraving something on it.  You can even saw it in half.

    I'm actually kind of worried that you would even THINK someone else can tell you what to do with your property.  You should definitely read the Constitution (assuming you're from USA), and get acquainted with your rights and responsibilities as a citizen.

  2. I've looked at their warranties, and I couldn't find specific mention, but there is a possibility that engraving an Apple product will make it ineligible for it's warranty.

    I have a friend whose company gave Shuffles engraved with their company name as Christmas gifts one year and that is what they were told when they had the engraving done.

    I've looked the issue up and I can't find a CONFIRMED answer anywhere. So if you want to risk blowing your warranty or if you are past warranty - go for it. If you want to be completely sure, I think you really have to contact Apple directly.
