  1. yes

  2. your parents are legally responsible for you til you are 18 in england and wales so you need their consent. in scotland its 16.

  3. Yes you are.

  4. yes, make sure you can afford it though, dont go doing anything without throughly thinking about it first, i moved out at 17 and believe me it was tough, im ok now but that was thanks to strong people around me

  5. i did, i moved out on my 16th bday.

  6. I don't know about England, but here in America it is illegal.

  7. Yes you are.

If you are 16 or over you can apply to the local authority for a home of your own. Local authority landlords and social landlords must admit applicants at 16 to their housing lists. You will not be allowed a mortgage until you are 18.

  8. In the UK you are not legally able to sign a contract for a flat , house etc and your parents cannot legally throw you out.

There are cases when the parents have died and a sixteen year old will have a flat with the younger sisters and brothers but that is under social services care and they take the role of the guardian until the oldest reaches eighteen years.

They will still probably monitor the children though

  9. yes, i did.

i had my own flat (and then house) and signed the contract. i paid rent and paid bills.

  10. yupp. but it can be hard finding places to live as they dont like as landlords dont like renting to 16 yr olds

  11. Once you are 18, the law says you can leave home without your parents' or guardians' permission.

If you are 16 or 17 and you want to leave home, you need your parents' official consent. However, if you leave home without it, you're unlikely to be made to go back home unless you are in danger. Even if you do have permission to leave home, it's not usually a good idea to go. If you're feeling desperate, try to get advice before you pack your bags.

You won't be legally entitled to a tenancy until you turn 18, so you're likely to have problems finding a place to live. It may be possible to get someone to hold the tenancy on trust for you until you turn 18. This can be the landlord or another adult, such as a social worker if you have one. If you're under 18, a landlord may require a guarantor, who would be liable for the rent if you failed to pay it.
