  1. nope but many people still do..and they get busted all the time.

You can get a license but its not easy.

  2. Usually to own any type of large crocodile or venomous snake you need a permit from a wildlife regulationsoffice. They will often come to your property to make sure you have a safe secure area for a gator and that you have sort of experience with owning them.

  3. no you are not alowed anywhere in the USA.

  4. NO.  See:  http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/publications...

  5. Ha-ha... i doubt it.  I live in Houston Tx... and I've never heard of anyone being able to own one.

I would go to the local animal control office and talk to them about it.

It would probably very expensive to own a gator... but you could possibly obtain a license.

    Hope that helped!!

  6. The only way to legally own an American alligator in Texas is with a special permit, however, they don't give them out to private individuals, only zoos and other scientific institutions. Crocodiles and caimans are legal though, and no permit is required. However, most cities have ordinances against them. But if you live in the country, there's a good chance you can legally own them. I owned a dwarf caiman for many years, and it nows lives in a pond on a friend's farm, along with other caimans and a Nile crocodile, all in separate ponds. I now live in a city which doesn't allow them. If you do live in a town or city in Texas and want to know the legality of owning crocodilians, go to your cities website, which can easily be found through google, and look for animal ordinances.
