Are you allowed to store your laptop with your clothes in your suitcase when you travel on a plane?

Can I put it with my clothes and have it go through the x-ray thing, or do I need to keep it in something special?

you have to take it out to go through security. just put it in a bucket and send it through the xray. then you can put it back in your bag and be good to go.

you can have it in your bag if you are checking it but that's not a good idea. it might get damaged.

i suggest taking it in a carry on bag or doing a gate check. and do above.

no you can not i had a laptop traveling to california they will make you put it in a seperate bin and out of the case with the case in another bin in addition  your clothes and carry on must go in another bin!!'

Are you asking if you can pack your laptop in a suitcase and check it instead of carrying it on board?  If yes, you can do that but it is a really bad idea. The baggage handlers literally throw the checked bags around and there is a very high chance your laptop will be damaged.

Best is to carry the laptop on board.  There are lots of laptop bags and backpacks on the market in which to to carry it.

Yes, but I always carry on my laptop for fear of it being stolen.  Especially if you travel overseas...people do go through your luggage.
