  1. As pointed out you can't take photos of it, but I got some wonderful postcards of it, which are better than any photos i took.

    There are a couple of other "david" statues around Florence.

    The first is in the square where it originally stood...its not exact, but its a good one to take a photo of and there is another metal one on the hill overloking the city on the other side of the river. I used the double decker tourist bus to get there....and has spectacular views of the city as well......so you have 2 other options.


  2. There is a reproduction of the David outside the museum, in front of the Medici palace. You are not allowed to take pictures within the museum, but you can outside.

    Another option is to disable the flash on your digital camera, conceal it under your coat, and just take a picture discreetly when in the museum.
