Are you allowed to use the internet on your laptop on the plane for southwest airlines?

I would like to use the internet during my flight. Would that be possible???

You can use your laptop, you cannot use the internet, and you cannot use your cellphone during the flight!

No you can not use any device that is electronic on any flight. It can interfere with the air traffic control. Before the flight takes off the attendants ask that all cell phones and computers, pagers, pda's etc, etc, be shut off.

Not yet, but Southwest is one of the airlines that is now in the testing stage of bringing internet service onboard their planes, possilbly by the end of the year or early next year. Alaska Airlines, American and jetBlue are the other US airlines along with Southwest that will be the first to offer a pay internet service in the US. For now, it's not possible although you can use your laptop once the cabin crew gives the ok to use electronic devices, but internet is not yet available.

I am not sure for that particular airline, but I am guessing not. Ever since Sept. 11th we've really tightened security and most planes don't allow you to use laptops because some have capabilities of controlling parts of the plane. So I would guess not, but you could call the air company and ask.

No. Absolutley not.  You wouldn't even get a connection.  You will have to wait till you are in the lobby waiting. You can use your laptop on a plane, just no Internet.
