Are you allowed to use your own Amazon Associates (Affiliate) link to buy products?

Hi guys,

I have an Amazon Associates account. Am I allowed to use my own links to buy products for myself?

  1. You can, it goes to Amazon, but your not going to make money off of it for bringing yourself in as traffic.

    Amazon tracks the IP address, so if it gets 20 of the same IP your not going to get paid for everytime


  2. No. Amazon does not allow that.

    Edit to Add: To those of you who have said the contrary, keep your wrong opinions to yourself. I have been doing affiliate marketing for many years and have refused to join Amazon for many reasons. This is one of them.

    From their terms of service:

    "You may not purchase products during sessions initiated through the links on your site for your own use, for resale or commercial use of any kind. This includes orders for customers or on behalf of customers or orders for products to be used by you or your friends, relatives, or associates in any manner. Such purchases may result (in our sole discretion) in the withholding of referral fees and/or the termination of this Agreement."
