I was thinking about heading to Europe in the next year or two. But I've heard that there is a long list of things like toothpaste, lipsick, electronics, things like that. But a friend of mine just came back from italy and she had a camera in the toronto airport taking pictures and even took pictures on the plane. I thought after 9/11 they got really strict on things like this incase you had a bomb in the camera or something.

Are you actually aloud to bring a camera in you carry on bag? And aloud to take pictures on the plane, like out the window? Or in the Airport?

  1. You are allowed to bring a camera onboard and they will allow you to take pictures on the plane.

However, if you take pictures in the airport OF the airport, you might cause some suspicion.  Taking pictures of family/friends in the airport won't cause a stir.

  2. You are allowed to have electronic equipment on the plane. As long as it doesn't contain a transmitter / receiver, like a cell phone or radio, you can keep it on during the entire flight except for landing and take off.

  3. Of course you can

  4. Yes, you're allowed to take them on the plane with you, and actually take pictures with them too. What you do, is you'll put it through the security scanner, and that's how they would know that there isn't a bomb inside of it.

  5. Cameras specifically are allowed and planes and you certainly may use them...people do all the time. There are many rumors and exaggerations about what you may take on a plane.  So.. see site below for all the accurate info.

  6. It is allowed (one may hope not too loud) and you do not have to tell them it's in your bag.

  7. Yes, you are allowed to take pictures on the plane, they might have had slightly stricter restrictions shortly after 9/11 but now you are certainly allowed to do it, just not during landing and take off.

As for security x-ray, if you have a normal small camera, they are usually ok and won't ask any questions but if you have an SLR (especially with extra lenses) they often ask you to take it out and look at it or put it through again by itself, so you might want to inform them before putting the bag through, just so they know what they are dealing with and to avoid additional hassle.
