Question

Just recently. My friend was introduced to the darkside. She is involved in an abusive relationship. She met this man and was seduced

by him. Things got worse. He started checking her emails, and cell

phone messages. She became depressed, and started smoking again.

Sh tried to keep in touch with me, but her boyfriend keeps her at bay.

The she wrote me stating that she could not talk to me anymore. This

was after they had an altercation back on June 25th. Now what can I

do, to get through to her. They just moved to another apartment complex, and I don't know her number or address. Do you think that

she still reads my Yahoo Answers questions ? If so I want to leave

her some clues. What can you see ? Is she trying to get in touch with

me ? She needs help. Thanks.

The best advice is simply to be there for her when she is ready to come to you. Part of being abused is not the physical but the emotional isolation - his story goes: we love each other and nobody understands me like you do, so tolerate my abuse and stay close by me because everyone else is trying to tear us apart and I only get so mad/jealous/violent because my feelings are so strong for you.

Supply a key to your apartment for that night she has to flee, be there non-judgementally so she can feel safe with you because he is sure to convince her that she is only wanted by others as an object not for her own good.

Only she can decide to leave him. I think if he knew you were contacting her he would freak out, and thats why she hasnt contacted you. He checks everything and if he saw an email, message anything, she would be in big trouble. She's scared of him physically and also emotionally. She is alos scared of losing him. (he has made her feel no one else would take her on.)  He is controlling her, and all you can do is hope she leaves him. Mental communication would need to be between two psychics.

Does she have family members that you can leave a message to? Does she work? Does she have a church? What outside contacts did she have before him? If she is allowed on yahoo, which I doubt, then she would know who you are. On yahoo answers leave your contact open for your email. Who knows, sometimes where there is a will there is a way.
