Are you an Edgar Allan Poe fan? Why or why not?

What is it about him that you love? Or don't love?

I admire his forward thinking...his Dupin stories were precursers to Sherlock Holmes, et al...

I just finished a biography on him, and honestly I'm kind of bummed at how...um...he was always asking for money, and how he drank a lot but said he didn't, or said e was overly sensitive and even one drink would make him drunk...

So far I have been to 2 of his homes (Fordham in NYC and also the one in Philadelphia), and this fall I plan to go to the one in Richmond and the one in Baltimore.

yes, because he is dark and depressing and most poets avoid that.

Yes.  He wrote amazing poetry and stories, plus he was crazy and bizarre.

Yes , I am a fan of his writing. Though much of it seems to be opium inspired. I enjoy the magical music involved in each verse that he composed the ideals that he persuaded into his readers is astounding his rhythm  and meter is unsurpassed by a majority of poets.
