  1. A Community College is a great place to start your education, it will allow you to get the common core of classes out of the way inexpensively (math, english, humanities, etc).  You will probably want to get an Associates degree in Business Administration.  You could then go on and get your Bachelors Degree in Accounting at a University.  Make sure you consult with which ever University you will study Accounting in to be sure all your classes will transfer.  Avoid trying to get an Associates in Accounting because the University won't allow those classes to transfer, the thinking is only upper class men can take most Accounting classes so it would be unfair to allow those classes to transfer.

  2. Accounting is a great field and accountants are in big demand. If you take the beginning accounting classes at community college. You will be able to fairly easily get a job at an accounting firm while you go to the university to get your accounting degree
