  1. I don`t usually defend McDonalds but at least they feed people. Dove soap only pampers the vain self obsessed people who put themselves before the good of the world.

  2. They don't cut down trees to harvest palm oil...

The rainforests are  being cut to make pasture land for beef cattle...

Instead of worrying about soap, you should boycott McDonalds.....

  3. I did not know that, thanks for the link.

Do you know if the deodorant is also uses the same palm oil?

  4. No different than a "green" newspaper killing trees so you can read the latest 'green" trend.

The forests are being felled to grow food.

Since ethanol is cutting into food exports they need to get food somehow, don't they?

  5. I am angry that anyone takes anything that greenpeace says seriously at all!

  6. I am a carnivore, I love meat! Many years ago I puked a McDonald after an all day session - the only solid thing to come back up was the gherkin. Never had another one since :0)

Dove soap is an interesting coin. On one side the criticism of Unilever is their products are tested on animals and contain a large amount of chemicals harmful to both skin and the environment.

On the other they are harming animals and contributing to Global warming, by using organic extracts from deforestation.

I can't be angry because I don't know which part of their environmental impact  causes the greater damage, they are damned if they do and damned if they don't. It's hard to be apathetic about a ladies beauty product; I don't want to wake up with my nose in a smelly armpit!

I would suggest all females used the Body Shop, but their products failed close scrutiny.

I think I will have to be labelled as resigned to the situation :0)

  7. I heard about that, sent the email, and got a response. Apparently they're doing something about it. But who knows. I was angry, but no more angry than I am at any other multinational corporation who crosses borders to mine resources with no concern to the impact on the environment or human well being all in the pursuit of a profit made from a product that could be produced closer to home in a more sustainable fashion.
