Stupidly I'm not anti American as individuals American's are ok with a few that are highly educated. I am very much in detest of the American government and its idiotic actions over the past 10 years. However that may all change with an Obama or McCain president.

  1. no but i'm anti-american government

they killed the my whole imaginary family

  2. I am anti stupid american and there are soooooo many of them. The educated ones (few and far between) are very different. The stupid ones are the "we won the two world wars" "we have invented everything" "our culture is the best" "everyone wants to live in america" "everyone is jealous of us" type of cretin that thinks Japan is in China, cannot name a foreign head of state, thinks that Queen Elizabeth II actually rules the U.K as an absolute monarch and cannot point out Washington DC on a map of North america.Yes,I am very anti, that type of american..

  3. I've been to many countries during my lifetime including Russia, China, Japan, UK, UAE, Mexico, Canada and Germany. Most countries I have been to and even the USA had their ups and downs but in time they grew stronger. Take for example WWII in Japan. After we bombed them, they seemed to be in pretty bad shape, but after all that they grew stronger and look where they are now.

Rree R: I never said that the countries I visited weren't free. In fact the UK, Canada and Germany are pretty much similar to the United States as far as the way the Government is run. I'm saying that out of those places, I perfer to live in America. I'm definately not saying that America is the best, I'm saying how much I appreciate the USA even though our actions over the years weren't so great. Granted, the way I phrased my answer did make it sound like I hated those countries (and I did rephrase my answer and make it more specific) but I actually liked all of them. I liked Japan the most because the technology there was far more advanced than any place I have ever been to.

  4. i'm not anti-american at all but for some people to be so naive to think that the US is the best country in the world is annoying, i don't even think the country i live in is the best country in the world (UK, Canada, Norway, Australia and Japan in my opinion are the best) every country has their flaws and their good traits, the US is a good country i just find too much people there who literally find them superior to any other country

edit to Mr.Nick: sorry that is just how i comprehended it, but i'm glad you gave me a mature answer back [:

  5. A truly wise person knows there is value in everyone. Education is a wonderful thing but is it the only criteria that makes you want to know someone? If being anti American makes you feel stupid then go for it be anti American. Granted our government has made mistakes but you probably don't like your government either. The government feels that we should do some good for other countries and stand up for those who can not and therefore we are in other countries. We support countries who if we weren't there would be overtaken. That probably makes us look pushy and nosey. All it takes to let evil continue is for the good to look the other way. I think we do what we can the best we  can.

  6. I'm American and I'm proud!!!!

But you're right our government actions aren't the best......

  7. The USA has been a great force for good in the world in terms of history, unfortunately in recent years the many fine people of this great country have been let down by their leadership.

    Cheers :-)

  8. No.. I am anti-ignorant/arrogant/prejudice/morons which you could find in any country, even my own.

    -Canadian

  9. ?

  10. I am not an anti american. I love the USA. Yes we are going through hard times but what country doesn't. And like you say this will hopefully change soon.

There are a lot of countriesd that are far more worse than us. For example in my husbands country they have gone a whole month without soap. My little nephew has developed worms do to poor sanitary conditions, and as for my county we live with the everyday burden of being kidnapped and murder.

So I truly I appreciate the country that I live in. Hang in there, it will change soon.

  11. Where did you learn English?

I agree that American people (just like most people in the world) are OK.  Governments have an agenda that is not always in the minds of the people who live in a country.

  12. I think very few British are "anti-American". I think we are frustrated with aggressive American foreign policies (and Britain's support for it) and a clearly inept president who would never win an election this side of the Atlantic. The "with us or against us" approach doesn't wash with me.

As far as individuals go, I think Europeans and Americans respect each other and have a healthy curiosity of each other. They think we are eccentric, but its actually the other way around!

Anyone who says "chips" when they mean crisps, or "fries" when they mean chips, must be odd. And they say "jelly" when they mean jam, and "suspenders" when they mean braces.

As for the politics, just as nothing changes in the UK when we have a change of government, nothing will change in the US. Western democracies are now devoid of choice and politics are free of ideological debate. Each party is just the same, with different marketing. Like Labour and the Tories here, Democrats and Republicans there, or the "Socialists" and UMP in France, all the parties are so similar, they are effectively the same, and just wait patiently for their inevitable turn in office.
