Are you as angry as I am about super high gas prices?

It angers me that those greedy oil companies are getting greedier. If I had it my way, the electric car would be used right now. Sure, the hybrid is cool, but we have the full potential to use a car that relies on ZERO fuel. Morons. I swear when people in 1000 years look back on our history they'll say "what a bunch of retards, they could have used electric cars all along."

  1. Ok let me explain to you how much those "greedy oil companies" make.  For every gallon of gasoline sold exxon mobil makes between 7 and 8 cents.  Compared to good old uncle sam who makes about 48 cents per gallon.  Who are you pissed at now?  Electric cars are starting to actually take off and i heard compressed air cars may be coming to the US by 2010.

You are the epitome of the uninformed american.

  2. Well, I don't drive or use gas anymore,so Nope! in fact I couldn't be happier. I hope it goes up even more, cause evidently it's not high enough.

I continue to walk or bicycle while the suckers guzzle down gas in their hummers and V8 trucks.

It's up to the people. when they've decided it's high enough, they'll stop driving or get a fuel efficient car

edit for hemi: those "use it to work" excuses don't hold up anymore. out of 100 hummer or SUV owners, maybe 2 of them need the space or use it to work. the rest are driven by ONE little old lady to go grocery shopping

  3. If you people want lower gas prices, you are going to have to stop using so much of it.

  4. If you're really angry, why wait for a perfect electric car?  Convert to ethanol, buy 2 acres of land and a still, and make your own. You'll amortize the price in  about 7 years, after which your fuel is FREE!

  5. Not shocked, in 1975 the government promised to move the country away from foreign oil...they didn't.

1978 it happened again, we say all the new wonder cars that would get 100 or more miles to a gallon, the government promised to get the country off foreign oil...they didn't.

2007, gas prices rise and continue to rise, the government promises again to move the country off of foreign oil...and the car makers again tout the cars that will never happen, and the hits just keep on coming.

33 years have gone by, and if you haven't gotten the message by now then how about investing in my 1000 mile per pint camel p**s car!

  6. I'm angry that we've allowed it to go this high through ever increasing demand and letting our military use so much fuel on a useless war.   The US military uses nearly 40% of the oil used in this country through aircraft, ships, land vehicles, power production for foreign bases and weapons manufacturing.    The only reason we need a military presence in the middle east is to fuel the military presence in the middle east.    Oil companies make about 10% profit, which is pretty low for most businesses in the country.     There's no reason they should sell their product for less than they can get for it.    Don't like it, don't buy it.

  7. Take an economics class. The market sets the price. With the third world industrializing demand is at an all time high.

  8. Yes it really ticks me off. It's hurting me and others on other ways too. i work retail and my store is not nearly half as busy as it should be. All because of the gas prices, however i do think if those who drive those over sized trucks and SUV's would go to smaller vehicles that would help a lot

  9. I actually kind of hope it gets higher so that people are forced to not drive as much as they do and, in turn, pollute as much as they do.

Idling in dead-stop traffic?  Leaving your engine on while waiting for a train or a drawbridge?  Not anymore, if it costs you $5 every time you do it.  You'll turn your car off and wait until traffic starts moving again...which is what you should do anyway.

  10. "Greedy oil companies" do not set the price of gasoline, that is set by the market.  And are you aware that the current price of gasoline is still below the all time high, which was reached in 1984.

  11. Well where do you think electricity comes from ....the sky?

OOH you must then know that 60% is from fossil fuels so in theory you just redirect you're tailpipe Plus im gonna keep driving my classic car until its 10 dollars a gal then i will make my own fuel.

Plus, if you even had a brain you would understand we can't just run like a flick of a switch... there are alot of drivers in the world so thats alot of cars. Now there is also the part of charing stations, public transportation, and the military.

And if you even had a decency of respect to anyone then maybe you would think that they need a truck for there work . I mean you can't tow 4,500 lbs in a prius or electric car lady.

Get you're facts straight and bring on the thumbs down.

  12. I'm too smart to get mad about gas prices. Sure, paying $3.50 to drive 16 miles sucks, but instead of getting angry about it, I do something about it. I ride my bike. And when it gets to a point where I need to drive, I'll buy an old Mercedes and run it on clean, very renewable and 100% free VO. Action gets things done, complaining doesn't. BTW, electricity counts as fuel. Nothing can move without some kind of fuel.

  13. yes girl, it makes me so mad, im not gonna be surprised if gas just tips over to 5.00 dollars a gallon, its really ridiculous. people gonna have to start riding bikes  to work

  14. Greedy oil companies?  Who would you be referring to?

The Gas station owners?  They only profit a few cents per gallon.

Exxon, Conoco, etc...?  The ones who have to run refineries 100+% to because they cannot build new plants without the greenies getting their panties in a bunch.  Maybe drill for our own oil....nope they can't do that anymore either.

OPEC...oh, the wonderful exporters who have artificially cut production numbers.   That tends to send the price per barrel higher.

Commodity traders...The ones that freakout when a fist fight breaks out in the middle east and buyout futures....also sending crude prices up.

Federal and State gov'ts...On average they make 40-50 cents per gallon in taxes.  Whereas the parent companies make 5-15 cents per gallon (and they do all the work).

There are more factors here then you can imagine.   Take a class in Economics.

  15. Yes. It sucks. I remember 20 years ago when I got my license that 89 octane LEADED was $0.75 a gallon.

I haven't heard of any car that runs on ZERO fuel however. E-mail me the plans.

Luckily, I have a sweet deal going with a good friend of mine. I'm buying gas from him for $2.00 a gallon. I won't tell you how but, No it's not stolen, nobody's getting fired and nobody's going to jail. He has 150 gallons in his shed at any given time.

I just hope this deal lasts for awhile.

If you think prices are high, be glad you dont have to buy racing fuel every Saturday night. It IS at $5.00 a gallon. Gotta pay to play.

  16. NOT MAD AT ALL. I chose to live in a way that gasoline doesn't consume a large swath of my disposable income.

  17. Did U help propagate  GW ,U did it to yourself.

  18. Its only going to get worse.

In a restricted market the seller is king.

Why not get on your bike? (in the polite sense)

  19. <<we have the full potential to use a car that relies on ZERO fuel.>>

and what would it run on?  feet?  or electricity?  what do you think they use to make that electricity at the oil fired power plant?

$5 a gallon?  wait a couple years.  you'll think that $5 would be pretty nice.

do i wish it were cheaper?  yep.

do i wish my health care were free, or really cheap?  yep.

do i wish that there was lots of clean water and it was free?  yep.

do i wish college was free?  yep.

get over it.  time to go out and earn a living.  clearly there is an oil / energy problem.  but you ain't seen nothing yet.  and no, i'm not about to sell my car and walk.

<<they could have used electric cars all along.>>

did'ja see the BMW vs Prius news article today?

    maybe you should look.
