They are both seniors with medical issues and seem to be at equal risk of something serious happening. The difference is that you would want the presidential candidate that you voted for to not be the one who could go at any time...Biden is a backup.

Very much so, yes.  If something happens to McCain, his VP becomes President.  Should something happen to Biden, Pelosi takes his place.  Nothing, absolutely nothing, could be more frightening!
