The people who claim to be English are decendants of immigrants?

The true Britons are the Welsh. The Scottish emigrated from Ireland to Northern Britain, The english are descended from Normans, Angles, Saxons, and Vikings who all emigrated here thousands of years ago. That is a fact! That is why the scottish and Irish wear kilts, they both have red hair, and both play the bagpipes, and speak in a very broad english. Any comments??

  1. Thanks so much for the generalization, ya big jessie. I dinna ha red hair and I dont wear a kilt.

  2. Im welsh so come on you lot, off my island

  3. Fancy that!

Well, since my grandmother was Welsh I think I'll go for a strut up the street declaring myself a True Briton!

    (Puts struttin' boots on)

  4. Nope.  No comments on this issue.  I don't find your revelation to be an interesting topic.

  5. The Welsh, Celts and Picts are immigrants too, old chap. They came from Africa or the Garden of Eden, depending on which you believe, science or the Bible. The G of E was somethere near Iraq, probbly, not in Swansea.

  6. I thought everybody knew that, I've certainly always known

  7. Um.... The true Britons are the Britons! The Welsh are the Welsh. The Britons were the early inhabitants of what is now England. The Britons are Celts, and as such are related to the Irish, Scottish, French.

The modern English are mixed race, however.  At least you have that right. They are a mix of Briton, Roman, Norman, Saxon, etc.

  8. We all had to come from some where. Are you aware that the British Isle's where under 100's of meters of ice in the last ice age? Guess when it got colonzied they where immergrants to?

  9. that they way they r..... people have to understand that others do different things in other countries

  10. So you've been reading a little history. Keep on going back and you find that we all crawled out of the ocean.

  11. The Irish don't wear kilts and they play the Uilleann pipes, not the bagpipes.......

  12. And where do you fit into all this melting pot then????

Or are you an outsider trying to stir something up Huh??

Oh and you forgot the Romans... we have been contsantly been invaded by all diferent races, and still are.

    Here Here Castlehillwizard.

And as my grandfather would have said in his truly Berkshire native English tongue " where bist e come from, way o'er yan nap"

  13. I'm Cymro,but you forgot the Kernowen(Cornish).

  14. My son wears a kilt.  My daughter has red hair..  Neither play bagpipes.  And they speak American English.

Do you have specific genealogical question?

  15. That's another piece of useless information someone's told me.

  16. Not genealogy and not accurate either. The Britons were not simply swept aside into Wales in fact most of them stayed put and intermarried with the incoming Normans, Angles, Saxons etc. There may be higher concentrations or pockets of people with a higher percentage of one particular invading tribe, such as Vikings in the North East of England but that doesn't mean that only Vikings lived there. It is also not true that the Irish wore kilts - there is no historic evidence to back that up. The Northumbrians also play bagpipes similar to the Uilleann pipes does that mean that they are also Scottish or Irish? As for the broad english have you never heard a Devon, Brummy, Scouse, Lancastrian etc etc dialect they are all as different as the English spoken by Gaelic nations.

  17. same can be said for many races in many countries, including america and australia. a little bit of expansion of your statement is that there are stuctures (burial chambers) in wales that pre date the pyramids by two thousand years or more.
