Are you born right hand or left handed or do you learn it?

me and my sister were just wandering if you were born right or left handed or if you learned which hand you used when you were younger..we're both confused...please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its a natural born trate, but learning to use the other hand can be done.

born. i know somebody that was born right handed, droped as a child and switched to the left hand.(they were/are fine)

I m born right-handed. From very young, I have always been trying to train to use my left hand to write but up to today, I can only use my right hand to write (my left handed writing sucks real big time!) even though I can use my left hand for everything else, including holding chopsticks n fastening buttons.

i think we are born to have the left or right handed hand..but sometimes we can have both as we can learn to use both hand..like my brother,he is born to have the right handed hand but from the age 7 he tried to learn the left handed hand...see now he can write with his both hand

A lot of times, ultrasounds show babies favoring one hand as opposed to the other, moving it more, etc. Babies are born naturally either right or left handed, though sometimes disabilities may interfere with movement. In some countries, and almost universally years ago, children were raised right-handed; this is why we shake hands with our right hands. The left hand was used in history primarily for dirty jobs, and just as conditions improved and countries advanced and developed, the tradition of shaking hands with the right hand has just stuck, and that explains why the overwhelming majority of people are still right-handed.

my cousin is a left handed, but she learned to use her right hand also... now she can write with either hand...

I was born left handed.  When I was a kid in grade school the teacher use to hit my hand with a ruler.  My mom went to school and told the teacher I was left handed and to leave me alone.  I am still left handed and proud of it.  HR.
