  1. Al Gore should be tarred and feathered.

  2. Well at one time they were begging for money to study global warming and now there gettin a bunch of it and  there is not much they can really do anyway i dont think .We do need to change some  of  our ways but i dont think there is much to be done its just nature takin its course

  3. No...but I'm thinking about selling it!  There's a lot of money to be made selling over-priced, feel-good gizmos.  Watch the pet rock come back...it's eco-friendly or "green" since it doesn't expell that nasty CO2.  Actually, the modern version would be a pet plant.  Hmmm....

Oh yeah:  High solar activity's to blame for the warming trend.  Do some research.  It's as plain as the eye can see.

  4. Global warming is a cyclical event that takes places over tens of thousands of years. The 'problem' is that MAN has accelerated that normal cycle because of his 'industrial revolution' of the past 150 years.

Smoke-belching factories, vehicle emissions, toxic oil spills, polluted waterways and poisoned air are all due to man-made processes or productions. Arrogance, neglect, ignorance, avarice, sloth and hubris have all set in to put us in a state of environmental denial - all for the sake of our own profit, comfort or convenience.

Man lived for eons without automobiles, asphalt parking lots, concrete highways and buildings, petroleum-based plastic junk, oil exploration, coal mining, air conditioning, over-fishing of the oceans, nuclear energy, chemically-treated foods, corporate-controlled agriculture, disruption of rain forests, destruction of mangrove forests and natural gas exploration. Now we've become addicted to all these 'needs', at the risk of destroying the very planet that allows us life.

"dudechic" might have the right idea: bear no more offspring, continue to waste Earth's natural resources, and die before global warming kills us all.

We fail to recognize how co-dependent we are on all other plant and animal species on Earth. We NEED horse shoe crabs*; mountains; coral reef; whales; wild elephants; ice caps; krill; Venus fly traps; meadows; wetlands; remote Eskimo tribes; caribou; mangrove forests; pristine regions of wilderness; untouched beaches; tsetse lies; spiders; mosquitoes; rain forests; 'uncivilized' tribal villages in the Brazilian jungles; polar bears; grasslands; rich, black soil; salmon; human beings of various races, creeds and cultures; farmland; deserts; snow; Belgian tigers; zebras; kittens; poisonous Amazonian frogs and all other species IF we are to sustain ourselves as inhabitants of this Earth.

Unless we follow dudechic's example, our grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren will pay dearly for our squander, squalor, waste, neglect and abuse of Earth's natural beauty and bounty.

Every plant and animal species on this planet has a purpose to fulfill. It is not our job to arbitrarily destroy such natural balance. we have been terribly irresponsible stewards of the Earth, and that - unfortunately - will be the legacy we leave to our descendants.  -RKO-  06/29/08

  5. The fad/cult of climate change has nothing to do with science.  It's purely political, at it's most devious level.

    I wouldn't contribute a cent towards it, so no...I don't buy it.

  6. Nope, never have. It's all about making money. IF it was about the environment, all SMOG equipment and solar conversions would be free.

How many cars and industry were around for the first iceage?

    The warming is ALL normal.

BTW... Ask around, the 70's rumor was that the next iceage was on it's way.

  7. nope its all a bunch a c**p

and i reLLY DONT CARE  because i will be dead before any of it occurs if its true

  8. No. Tax scheme.

  9. OK, let say global warming is not true. Does that mean you are going to care less about the environment? Are you going to pollute more? Be irresponsible about saving energy and water?

I don't know if Al Gore is 100% right or not, but I do know I want to take care of my planet and doing that doesn't hurt anybody.

  10. No it's all bullshit - no has proven it - no scientists have said anything positive for global warming - it's just to take our minds of serious issues.

  11. Yes--we have 600,000 years of temperature and CO2 concentration data, and the correlation exists.

Yes, there are natural warming and cooling cycles, but all you have to do to test whether humans are exacerbating the problem is to touch a turned-on light bulb with your finger (for the less thoughtful skeptics of the group, I recommend using your tongue).

Is the light bulb hot? Why, yes it is. Did powering that light bulb result in more CO2 in the atmosphere? It does for the ~80% of the US that doesn't use nuclear power.

I'd take the skeptic's opinions more seriously if they

    a) offered peer-reviewed facts rather than conspiracy theories, and

    b) spelled better.

  12. First All and I mean ALL sane people know that global warming is a hoax.

That this is a hoax is already proven and is no longer open to debate.

I am not going to waste my time listing every reason why global warming is a hoax I have done that already and I am tired of typing. I could give you a hundred reasons and if your mind is so stupid to believe in this nonsense you will believe in it no matter what I say.

That global warming is a hoax is not my opinion but FACT.

  13. I believe global warming is occurring.  I do not know its cause and doubt man is entirely responsible nor does he have the ability to change it.  I believe many advocates have ulterior motives.  I do believe that the earth will continue to go through warming and cooling periods no matter what we do.  If we change anything it may only be the timing of the cycle.  It may even be possible that we are warming up the planet and that we will put off the next ice age.  I don't think anyone can know.

  14. I live in coastal southern California. I'm on high ground and not in the middle of a forest, so my home won't be directly affected by whatever happens here.  But I made the choice of where to buy a home long before I ever heard anything serious about global climate change.  In any event, yeah, I "buy into it."

The reason is that when my grandson was born 3 1/2 years ago, I began to pay attention to reports of global warming more carefully.  Then I starting using this site, and realized the level of information here was spotty at best, so I "retired" from the site and spent about 4 months researching the issue.  My background is in communications, and I still do some writing, so I knew how to dive in, and quickly amassed a list of websites and books that continues to swell as questions and answers help me to fill in the gaps.

The overwhelming majority of sites, the bulk of what I found from U.S. universities, government, international consortiums, etc. indicated that this was a problem of incredible proportions, and the time to act is now.

So that's it in a nutshell.   Although I knew Al Gore and the U.N. were involved deeply, it wasn't until about a month ago that I saw "An Inconvenient Truth."  And to tell you the truth, I was impressed.  Because I'm in a field where I see a lot of speakers, hear a lot of presentations, and I thought he did a good job on that level.

I totally support someone's right to be skeptical on this.  What I find harder to buy into is the level of outright denial some people possess.  I'm not that certain about much in this life, and don't understand, given the stakes, how they can be so certain about global warming/climate change, given the sheer volume of information that is available to the public.

  15. "Buying", is the BEST way to phrase this question. Thank you!!

"G-W"- Is a naturally occurring phenomena. The ONLY thing "man-made" about "it" is the "free money" that "junk scientists" are getting from Federal Research Grants, and gullible supporters, like Al Gore, etc.

The Planet has been around a LONG time, GOD made it "durable". Humans have not been here all that LONG, GOD made US(and all the OTHER creatures) somewhat "adaptable". GOD gave US the ability to develop "industry". Do you think GOD was "stupid" enough to give US the ability to destroy the PLANET? IF so, don't you think HE's capable of "going back to the drawing board", and starting over?

Whether you believe in GOD, or not, it's worth more thought than this "G-W" myth.

  16. Measure the greenhouse gas that was supposed to cause Global Warming. ... It is not there... Oxygen is 20.9% of the atmosphere. CO2 is about 300 ppm.Now convert that to percent of atmosphere .. That would ..0003000% and that is nothing....

  17. If I were to buy into this global warming scheme, I would summit myself to flogging.
