Are you close to your adult sibling? ?

My sister and I are 3 years apart in age. But worlds apart in mind and spirit. I have always lived a few hours away from family. We currently live 6 hours away, b/c that is where my husband is working. She hardly calls, never visits and nothing I seem to do is good enough for her or right in her eyes. I keep trying to forgive and forget. But she keeps stabbing me in the back. I feel bad that we are sisters and we have a hard time getting along. Is anyone else like this?

Do not try and forgive and forget. Forgive and forget.

When you feel stabbed in the back just say, oops there is the stab again and leave it at that. Your sister does what she does. Be with that and all your problems will go away with your sister and you can have a relationship again.

I don't think your situation is all that uncommon even though my sister and I get along very well and talk everyday, I know many siblings who don't. My brother and I live about 10 minutes apart and never see each other or talk on the phone unless there's a big family thing going on or during the holidays.

I think sometimes its easiest to treat people who forgive us the worst or take them for granted. But to answer your question your not alone.

You have to not try to forgive and forget you have to do it.  Communication is the answer.  Ask her why she never calls, visits and why she think nothing you do is ever good enough.

Do you call her?  Do you visit her?  Do you ever say anything nice to her.  Maybe you need to look at yourself first before you judge your sister.
