  1. No.  You're only old when you watch the Lawrence Welk Show and enjoy it.

  2. Being well-informed does not make you old.  I watch the evening news most days, read the newspaper every day, and read at least some Internet news every day.  All are good sources.

  3. well im 15 and all my friends either call me a nerd because i know about all the current events or they call me old and boring. lol, some friends huh.

  4. While there are other sources for news--radio, internet, newspapers--most people today, including young ones, still rely on locally channeled news.

Why?  Because they trust the source.  It's the most convenient.  It's free.

Perhaps the most reputable news in the world, according to media center studies, is that to be found on your local PBS broadcasts...like McNeil & Lehrer Report,  BBC World Report, Frontline, Nova, etc.

With digital TV becoming the standard by Feb, 2009, you can also watch local channels in HD-TV right over the free air.  Most stations have "substations".  For instance, my local PBS station had 6 substations, including specialized news shows from all over the world.

So, it's reputable, credible news that's also free, convenient, and up-to-date and technologically advanced with digital and HD.  If you miss a show, you can always go online and download a podcast or stream videos from the stations' sites.
