  1. That's roughly 48000 a year.  Comfortable, sure, definitely not rich these days, unless you are comparing the salary to other countries who make around 4000 a year.

That's about middle class in the US.

  2. For most Americans it is considered middle class. It is certainly comfortable.. However, alot of it depends on where you live. Certain areas of the country have a median income of $200,000 like Atherton, California whereas others are a bit lower; the state median for Mississippi is only $34,473.00. Alot of it truly depends on the area where you live and the company that you keep-- if you're making $50k a year but hang out with people who are working part time at McD's making $8.00 an hour-- most of your friends are going to say you're rich.

But like stated, for the entire encompassed US you are middle class-- be glad you're making the dough that you are!

  3. That's a nice middle class salary, but it's hardly "rich." It's basically a person who is making in the 40 thousands yearly and  I would consider it average.

  4. Definitely not rich.

  5. That is roughly the median income for most Americans (2006 median is between $43,900 and $52,200, depending on location) so I would say your stated range is a normal salary where you can pay all your bills, drive a dependable car, save a little for retirement, enjoy a hobby, and if you compared yourselves to the millions of people trying to get into this country, their families they left behind, and the billions of others who can't afford to pay the immigration lawyers and smugglers, you would consider yourself rich.

  6. That's below $50,000.00/yr,, Not even close to being considered rich. More like lower Middle Class.
