  2. Yes I use canvas bags purchased at JoAnn's Fabrics.  After putting my groceries away I put the bags in the car.  That way I always have them when shopping.

  9. yes - i am definitely trying to make an effort not to use so many or accept them in every shop i buy something in.  we already use sainsburys reusable bag for life bags, and i try to take a cotton bag out shopping with me in town so if i buy small items i can put them in there instead of taking a plastic bag.  everyone needs to do their bit for the planet and the environment.

  10. I'm trying to!  :)  I try to remember to bring plastic bags with me to the store (I get groceries once a month, so I'd need a LOT of canvas bags).  I always re-use plastic bags - line small garbage cans with them, use them to clean up after pets, etc.  Also - where I live (Pittsburgh), the city requires that recyclables be sorted and then placed in blue plastic bags from the grocery store.

IKEA is the only store I know of here that charges for plastic bags.  I think that's a GREAT idea, as I've read many stores in Europe do that and I think it would really cut down our consumption here in the US.
