We could be called an unchecked virus or even a parasite beyond control

if one were to see this planet from space with time frames of some years in between .And see the changes to the earth`s surface

Global warming is a component in a group of destructive forces at work ,it is not the only one , but other factors which we are responsible for ,are rapidly making it the worst .

We are now witnessing a mass Extinction of animals and plants of Biblical proportions,equal since the disappearance of the dinosaurs. in the last 50 years over 3000 species have gone into extinction

If we want to save ourselves as a specie ,we have to address

the problems

Apparently we can correct most of the destructive factors

with disciplines ,changes of attitude and habits.

All species are in Danger eventually,

and each is important because all of Life on this planet is interrelated even if it is not obvious

Imagine that the Eco system is a wall and each specie is represented by a brick

Every brick taken out weakens the wall ,and eventually it will collapse ,which brick is the most important ???

they are all important and we are one of the bricks

Ha!  I wouldn't drive an SUV if I was handed one for free.  Everyone here in So. Cal drives one and all they are here are status symbols...no one goes off roading or hauls any sort of heavy loads.  Most are used to go to the grocery store and back or to the mall.  I zip by them in my hybrid and laugh as they are paying about $85-$100 to fill up their gas tank, and I pay $20!!

i care,  im just not sure what to do about it.  ive read several books, mostly all contradictory.  As for cliff f, well, your suv burns twice as much gas as my car, therefore you emit more carbon and other pollution,  not to mention putting more money into the pockets of islamic terrorists.  Of course they are a status symbol, for a certain type of person that is, its called conspicuous consumption.  I think they  have no class no matter if ford makes them or mercedes.  The most ridiculous thing ive seen is a suv limo.  Most people who own them never take them off road, and  most people who own trucks never put anything in the back of them. Ive read the numbers somewhere, its like about 70-90% for that.

I'm probably the most 'eco-friendly' fool there is in the western world.

If I had an SUV I would not give it up as long as I could afford it's running costs, taxes, and maintenance!

Owning and running an SUV does no damage to the global environment at all.(Contrary to what garbage is being spread about now days)

Sometimes I do have to wonder how many SUV owners actually need it for practical purposes, or if they use it as a status symbol!

Well we will give up the suv gladly if you will haul the hay in your little car and remember you will have to make several trips.

If your little car can haul a trailer filled with critters, safely!!

Haul two weeks of groceries from town. Haul building and gardening material....

Heck we haul all sorts of stuff for our friends and community too with this thing....but if you think a little car can do the same work without making 50 trips back and forth from town or the city.....what is smarter here?
