Question:

Are you ever too old to learn to dance?

I have been inspired by my fav show (So You Think You Can Dance) to start dancing. I am 23 now and I don't have much experience dancing other than booty dancing at the club, dancing at my church (when I was younger) and a little step routine I learned in high school. I have always enjoyed the practices. I liked pushing myself even when I'm tired. Anyway, I would really love to get back into dancing (preferably hip hop), but I feel like I might be too old and I am intimidated as I am inexperienced. Is there anyone out there who started dancing around my age? I live in Tampa, FL and would really love to find a dance studio. Any suggestions??

  1. 23...and too old...not a chance. There should be plenty of studios that offer adult classes. HIp hop seems to be in high demand at alot of dance studios, and many accommodate all levels of dancers.  Call around and ask if any have the level of class you need. Some might even let you try the first class for free to see if it is a good fit. Don't be discouraged if you don't pick it up at first, go a few times.

    Have fun and good luck!

  2. no you are not

  3. You are NEVER too old to dance, believe it or not adult dance c lasses are becomming popular because there are so many women (and some men) who want an alternative to aerobics or who just never got the chance as a child.  I was about 24 when I first started learning Ballet!  I LOVE it!  I am currently living in Germany with the military and so opportunities are limited for adult classes, but when I move back to the states I found there are so many studios that take adult beginner students for various types of dance.  I cannot even touch my toes or do the splits and I am in a mostly teenager class right now, but I have so much fun!  I have been learning to dance en pointe and I even got to do a ballet solo this year in a recital...it was like being a child all over again.  I looked really quickly on the internet and found Tampa Bay Ballet - it looks like they do adult beginner Hip Hop/jazz.  I was able to find that pretty quickly, so I am sure there are more in Tampa!  Have funa nd good luck!

  4. If this is something you really have your heart put into, go for it.

  5. Dance is not something for just young people to learn. There are many adult classes everywhere! In anything from tap, to ballet, to jazz, to hip-hop.So you think you can dance is one of my favorites, too. I'm glad that it inspires you! I don't know whats in Tampa, FL, because I'm in MI. But wait a minute, I'll find something..........Check out this site.......

  6. invite a couple of friends to take class with you (an adult class) so that you feel comfortable.

  7. No it's never to late to follow anything you have a passion for,the sooner you start the easier it will be as you age { I have found} your muscles don't seem to want to co-operate with you.

  8. Search this in the 'SEARCH' box. It has been asked over 2 000 times...

'am i too old to dance?'

    'when is too old?'

    'are you ever too old?'

    ect.

Stop wasting your points, look it up.

    EDIT:

Well, unless the people you are asking onhere live where you live it's pointless to ask...

You live there, so you knwo it best, not us.

    And it's not rude.
