Are you excited for NHL 09 and 2K9?

Which one, if any, are you going to buy. And why?

probably NHL 09 cause I am more familiar wiht that series. I with they would just stop changing so many buttons and keep it a little more user friendly!

NHL 09 ...... h**l YA Phaneuf is on the front cover and nhl 07 and 08 rocked

2K9 ......... h**l NO!!!!!!!!!! In 2K7 everyone looked the same and all had mullets and the graphics on that game are dirt!

and im plannin on buying nhl 09, becuz 08 was better than 2k8..

the 2k series was dominating until the 2k7 series, but nhl 08 was better than the 2k8 with the better controllin thing

and the nhl 09, i think, gives you the opportunity to play as the goalie, (not sure about 2k9)

so ya..

and dion phaneuf is a better cover player than rick nash :P

I'm actually excited for both. I can't wait to see how 2k9 turns out for the Wii. If it works I'll buy it. NHL 2009 looks good for the 360 and playing one player sounds cool. I probably won't buy it unless I can get it for less than $30 b/c I own 2007. Buying a game every year is too expensive so I normally wait a few years for something different or the roster becomes outdated. I wonder if they will use 2K10 next year or change the name.

The only time I played 2k was when 2k7 was the only hockey game for PS3.  It was good, but NHL08 is much better.  The only thing i liked about 2k7 was two things.  one, the goaltending was alot more fun, with the sixaxis controller that you tilt towards the target to stop the puck, and the contract negotiations, where you could add insentives and low/high or high/low contracts.  that was cool.

but I will be buying NHL09 not NHL 2k9.  NHL09 is the first to introduce a Be a Pro mode to a hockey series.  They have added 1 handed dekes, they have added new hitting and fighting engines, oh, and a 360 degree defensive skill stick.  this means you can perform stick lifts on defense which should be great.

I havent heard anything about the 2k9 game, but apparently they are totally overhauling it, since NHL08 was SO much better than NHL 2k8.  which is true, 2k8 was horrible, in every way, it was like playing a PS2 game, no offense to PS2, but i dont want that if i am playing on a PS3.  NHL09 promises to be my next favorite game, since NHL08 is my favorite right now.

h**l yes, Mr. S! I'm eagerly anticip8n' playing NHL 2K9 for the Wii. The Wii Wand is just meant 4 slap shots & wristers! I love playing hockey as a video game as I have EA Sports NHL 2003, 2004, & 2005. I was bummed out when the Wii first came on the market, that there wasn't a hockey game created soon enough. EA Sports didn't have the 2008 version for the Wii & doesn't look 2 have the 2009 version, but 2K Sports will have one. According 2 one article, there was like some publicity over the 1st hockey video game made 4 the Wii. So it looks like I'm switching over to 2K Sports until EA Sports can come up w/ the Wii version of NHL 2010. I just only wished that there was a hockey game on Wii Sports.

NHL 09 of course. i mean 2k8 was soo slow and boring. the camera angles sucked too. the comenters bored the c**p out of me. i mean nhl 09 is the way to go
