Yes darling girl, now I can have a good night's sleep without staying up late watching the sports events.  It has been exciting watching, but my sleep pattern has suffered!!!!!  It has been too much of a good thing.

Why should I?

It's the end of the Olympics, so it's not supposed to be such an exciting occasion... (Well, perhaps for the athletes who won medals, it is)

But considering I didn't like the opening ceremony that much, I don't expect the closing ceremony to be much better.

Anyway, since it is farewell time, I am less critical of the closing ceremony than of the opening ceremony.

I'll be 4 years older, and so I can't be looking forward for it now...

But I'll be happy when they are back...

I'm excited about Jimmy Page playing. And I hope Chinese authorities jail Gordon Brown since the bloody Brit hate him. Beckham is there. But England's football team is boring. Where is Sir Paul? Why Leona Lewis?

[sidenote] Why do I feel that people who criticize televised computer-generated fireworks has no heart when the helicopter is flying?

About the 29 footstep fireworks, it is not fake. It is real. But the footage you see is digitally imposed/overlayed (probably from earlier rehearsal images). That means if you were in Beijing you will actually see the 29 foot steps fireworks on the street.

The reason they gave for digitally enhancing the footage was it is impossible to shoot all 29 steps in such quick succession and guess what, "for the safety of the helicopter crew shooting the scene".

yeah, i'm excited and I hope it's as good as the Opening Ceremony, I just hope they don't have any lip synchers or computer generated events.
