Are you familiar with Applebees?

Question

I didn't know this until I interviewed for a managment position with them. Just about everything on the menu is precooked, frozen and sent to the restaurant and microwaved to order. This includes steaks, burgers and all the meats. Their soup of the day comes in a big frozen bag and thawed in a steam table. I won't eat there anymore.

I'll bet you ate there before you found out everything was prepackaged and frozen...you probablly liked it too. now you just know that you are paying twice as much for food you could have went and bought fresh from the grocery store. and, it's probablly better that everything is frozen anyway. imagine if they actually served fresh food. that would be even more nasty, considering the effort it takes to store fresh food compared to frozen.

no wonder I did not like there food it was really bland, but I do like there happy hour-they are the only one's that have a reverse happy hour

yes i did no that gross isnt it. My mom banned my famil from eating there. Every time we go there no matter which one it is our food is cold.

your dumb, how would you get in precooked steaks? one box is medium well and the other is well done.. I'm sure they do get in somethings like there soup premade as do most restaurants. Many of the restaurants that Ive worked for "made" there own soup with ingredients straight from a can. I guess frozen might be better, huh

That way Applebee's has complete quality control. Many restaurant chains do similar things.

It beats some of the "mom" and "pop" places that serve absolutely inedible food that they made from "scratch."

yes!! of course. apple bee's is a very yummy resturant..i used to eat there when i was younger...many childhood memories...and they sang happy bday to me there every year practically..i love applebees.

That is not right. You have given wrong info here. Some of the foods of course come frozen. Fries, maybe burgers. But they are not precooked! Precook a steak? I know 2 people who worked there and that info you gave is not all true. And it is very good food. At least the one here in Houma, Louisiana. But everything here in se Louisiana is very good. Cajuns just cook  better.

Actually, that isn't quite so. Their meals are prepared to order by   cooks on staff. The food is quite good, but it can get rather costly.
