  1. If your dog isn't running loose you might not have to neuter him.

It doesn't hurt them if the do get neutered. They might be a little sore from the operation but they're fine after a day or two.

I think people should be more concerned with neutering/spaying  homeless people, low income families & other people who are irresponsible & unable to care for human lives.

  2. There is minimal pain.  A neuter doesn't even require pain meds, however, a spay may require some, but it is not as though they are getting a leg amputated!!

I wholeheartedly believe in spaying and neutering.

  3. I'm for neutering dogs, there are too many unwanted dogs in the world as it is!! so why do we need more, we should adopt at our local pet shelter, before they get put down, all those poor animals!!

  4. I personally do not like fixing my animals, but I did have to fix my male cat, didn't want for him to add to the kittens mess, but he managed to slip one in after he got fixed, so we kept one of the kitties, besides they were born on my birthday!! but anyways.....

If there is a possibility that my animal might impregnate another animal or get preggers then I would get the fixed, but I am very careful not to allow my animals too reproduce.

Just get ready you and I are going to get a bashing from the pro-fixing people.

My female cats are "unaltered" and so is my male dog.

And poor jack got so fat after he got fixed.....and I do not want to here the well it is because of the c**p food that you feed him, I do not feed my animals c**p food, they eat better than me, Solid Gold. Says it in the name.

OHHH and how would you know that is does not hurt for a male dog to get fixed, guys tell me if your nuts would get chopped of it would hurt you right?

And just because I don't want to fix my animals does not make me selfish, I would only be selfish and irresponsible if I were allowing them to breed, but I am not, so I am not adding to the homeless aniamls, and my animals do not run around freely.

HEY MASTIFF MOMMY MY DOG IS NOT FIXED THERE FOR HE IS NOT FAT AND I DO WALK AND PLAY WITH HIM SO STOP ACCUSING ME OF ****!! MY CAT GOT FAT.....UHHH SHOULD I TAKE HIM FOR A WALK? JACK THE FAT CAT GETS PLENTY OF EXERCISE AND I PLAY WITH ALL MY ANIMALS SO BACK OFF!!

Thanks for the thumbs up very much appreciated.

FALLON.....can you please tell me how to walk my cat? he does not like leashes.....and I would rather not have him as a road decoration, so he stays indoors, and I am not lazy!!

By the way critisizing people about fixing there pet is not going to make them change their mind, I do not critsize people for fixing there pets, and i am not against fixing animals. It is just my choice, who am I to play god?

Also can someone please tell me why? after jack got fixed he immediatly starting gaining weight? and also if it is because I am sooooo lazy why are my not-fixed cats thin and healthy?

  5. Hmm..

I like my dogs cancer free, thanks!

If you leave your pet unaltered, then they're at an 80% risk for cancer.

I'd rather them have 48 hours of pain, then years of it resulting in putting them down.

My friend just got a stray Chihuahua that she took to the vet only to find it has a hernia caused by it's previous owners NOT getting him fixed.

He's apparently not in much pain, which is why she didn't put him down but his life will be cut very short because of irresponsible owners not having him fixed.

Sorry, I've heard to many horror stories of unaltered pets to not do my dogs a favor and have them fixed.

    ADD>

Dogs to NOT get fat after altering. HUGE MYTH!

Obesity is due to lazy owners that don't walk their cats and dogs.(Yes, you are suppose to walk cats too)

  6. It's a personal choice and it depends on the situation. We had a male Yorkie for years and years. He was never neutered nor was he ever bred. He was the only little dog we had and he stayed inside. He only went outside to potty and came back in when he was done.

We now have two Pugs, a male and a female. We had family members voice their desire of having Pug puppies, and, we did consider the possibility.  HOWEVER, we researched breeding Pugs and learned that it would be better to leave that to the experts. We neutered our male and spayed our female. They are the happiest Pugs and are so full of energy. They love to play throughout the day and are the best of friends. We are happy that we chose to do this at this time because we love our Pugs and want them around us for as long as possible.

  7. It actually is not very painful for a dog to be neutered.

If you don't plan on breeding your dog (which you should not do until they are at least 2 years of age) then you should have them fixed. This will prevent unwanted litters if your pet gets in contact with a female that's in heat.

  8. Yes, I believe in spay/neutering. None of my animals have seemed to be in any great pain, a little stiff the first day but after that all was well.

I'll tell you I only had to see one dog with testicular cancer and that was enough for me, talk about painful looking. Poor animal's testicles were red and raw looking, swollen and he barely moved along at all.

I'm not going to breed my animals as they are pet quality and will give nothing back to the breed. In my opinion if I can keep them healthy longer and they aren't going to "use" their reproductive organs why not just have them spay/neutered before they think their missing out on something.

  9. I'm for neutering.   The pain is temporary and goes away quickly.  Dogs mostly live for the moment, so the impact should be minimal.  Just make sure that you have a good vet, with excellent after-surgery facilities.  And lots of TLC when you bring the pup home!

The flip side is:   Just think about the endless frustration an un-neutered dog would go through!!!!   If you don't plan to breed him (and please, please, don't), why make him go through that!?

  10. I like my dogs free of cancer and terrible anxiety during breeding season. I also like my dogs without the roaming need.

Neutered males feel no pain during the surgery, the most they'll feel is a little sore afterwords. On the second or third day, they're absolutely normal again.

Even if you don't have a female in the house, its best to neuter them. Males are miserable when its breeding season. They can smell a female in season up to three miles away, and all they can think of is breeding.

Neutering them is the most loving thing you can do for them, in a sense.

  11. Neutering a dog can save it's life..I would rather neuter then have to deal with him/her dieing of cancer later- or having to deal with a unplanned pregnancy and not being able to keep all the pups, worrying if they are abused or not being treated right.I personally think its ignorant and selfish not to neuter- I think it's much safer for my dogs.. But those are just my thoughts

Add to loves animals-maybe if you walked and played with your dog he wouldn't of gotten fat..since when does neutering cause that..? Exercise and good diet just like humans..
