Since nobody is bothering to answer my last question about this issue, I figured I'd just ask it in a different way. Maybe nobody cares. I don't know...

  1. Oh definitely, let's just viciously FORCE all Americans to be healthy...

    That way, they'll live longer.

    That'll teach 'em.

  2. AGAINST! It doesn't work. Read reports from Socialized Medicine participants in these countries. If the people have the financial means they come to the United States for treatment. Tis would also be a financial disaster to this country. Nothing comes free it all has a price. There are programs for uninsured children, and health clinics for adults. This idea for the common good, is garbage. The more you give the more people want. How about working for a living? It  has worked in the past. I am tired of all the handouts that the government gives. It really needs to stop.

  3. I am 200 % against socialized medicine

  4. Government has been successfully s******g thing up throughout our history, why not let them FUBAR this too?

Actually, I'm against this socialist c**p.  I need my money for my retirement, not to pay for someone's permethrin cream to cure their crabs.

  5. Everyone who can pay, will get it.  That's the true meaning of socialism.  I'm for it.

  6. Completely against it . This goes against what a free society is and is forbidden in many ways by the constitution. The government isnt supposed to be in every part of our lives that is communism and fascism. Ive got my proof below I suggest you arm yourself with this powerful information now before its too late.

  7. oooOOooo "socialized"  boogedy-boogedy-boo.

    what a scary word!

The American voter will have to say "No" if we call a concept "socialized."

The U.S. has a moral obligation to find a way to obtain health care for her population.  Every solution has to be examined and entertained.  Name calling should stop, and the population and statesmen should address the issue with intelligence, energy, and imagination...but I'm not holding my breath...

  8. against

Can you think of just one program the gov runs well. Try to think of just one.

  9. It bothers you to pay for health care of a less fortunate person, but it doesn't bother you to pay for a war that's killing, maiming and ruining the life of thousands. That's a really screwed-up & self-centered philosophy!

  10. Very much against it. The poor already have free medical care. So do the illegals. I want the government to just leave mine alone. The government screws up every program they start. It's the government for crying out load. Not a bunch of smart people.

  11. I don't really think it would have to be a forced issue . I think that if every single American were asked ( Even the undesirables , that people love leaving out of the poles ) You would definately have a majority vote . There is no excuse for American children ( or adults for that matter ) to not have access to any form of healthcare . I am against rich doctors allowing someone to go untreated because they don't have enough money to pay . They take an oath to do no harm , but isn't that exactly what they are doing when they turn someone out who needs treatment ? Isn't this America where our government and everyone else has taught us to treat everyone equally ? The poor are the last group that is consistantly discriminated against , and yet no-one seems to be standing up for there rights . What if you couldn't get treated because of the color of your skin ? I guarantee the government would stand up and do something then . So I personally am for socializing medicine , and so is everyone else who has ever recieved shotty healthcare because of an inability to pay .

  12. Against.  Here's why.  I don't believe that it is the responsiblity of any American to be forced to pay the government to help or support others.  This country was founded on you get where you are on your own, not welfare.  If people want to, great, that is what charity is for.

  13. I think we should keep our current wonderful medical system where it takes 6 weeks for an insured person to get urgently needed heart tests done, and where the insurance company keeps 40 % of the insurance premium leaving only 60 % for medical care.

I think it is a great system.  If we keep it more of us will head up to Canada to get our urgent health needs take care of.

  14. I am for universal health care - which includes socialized medicine. I am not for total govt control of medicine. There is a difference.

Now I'll ask a question which will require some thought. If for some reason you lost your health coverage & could not get it back under current law, would you rethink your position on universal health care? Do you know anyone who does not have health coverage who is against universal health care?

  15. i think it is the craziest fact that one of the richest company or so we claim to be have so many people are without heath care. I think it is an embarrassment to our country that we claim to help other countries get on their feet and live right and we have people are dying and with out job and most importantly without a very much need medical attention. I am ashamed of this fact

  16. Force? Hmmm. Those who decry government health programs refuse to acknowledge that providing adequate health care to all is fundamental to a vibrant and well-functioning society. If they acknowledged this fact, then "socialized medicine" would make as much sense as "socialized police," "socialized drinking water," or "socialized library." We don't refer to any popular government service or program as "socialized." It is only trotted out to stir up negative and reflexive emotional reactions to government programs. That is because people don't fully understand the meaning of "socialized". If ever there was an issue that cried out for a serious national debate, it is health care.

  17. You didn't get answers to a hot-button issue like this?  That's strange.

    But I vote "for".

But in a way, we're ahead of ourselves.  America has not answered the question of whether or not health care is a right or an elective to be paid for individually.  If we just answer that question, then we'll have answered most of the following questions.

  18. I am totally against socialized medicine.  I do not want the government involved in my medical care in any way, shape or form.  Hillary and the rest of the democrats can take their universal coverage and shove it up their collective behinds side ways.

  19. I'm not for any use of force against a people. They have the right to say no.... But in my country we have what you may call socialized medicine where our health insurance is paid through taxes and we only have to pay something like 37 of your dollars for a visit to the doctor.

That way, many who would fall through the cracks get the treatment they are in need of without being totally ruined!

  20. No one would have to force socialized medicine upon anyone in America. I am a disabled person who has had very limited access to much needed medical care for over 3 years. I cannot work, so I cannot get insurance through my employer. I paid Medicare premiums when I was working, but have been forced to wait for 2 years to get Medicare.

Even with my Medicare eligibility, the only portion that is paid outright is Part A (hospitalization) only b/c I paid the premiums for that out of every paycheck when I was working. When my Medicare (eligibility starts in January, I will have to make the monthly payments for Part B & prescription coverage. I MIGHT be eligible for extra help to pay the premiums, but the copays are still at 20% or more depending on the service received. Medicare means that I will have medical insurance, but I'm still going to have to pay the premiums and copays out of my disability check, which reduces my monthly income to about $800 ~ not much when you consider that all of my $$$ are already stretched as thinly as possible.

"Socialized" medicine will help disabled people who cannot work and the elderly, as well as our children. There are many parents who cannot afford the premiums charged by their employers as those premiums will force the parents to choose food on the table or medical care. I've been in that position when my children were younger ... I chose food b/c my children had to eat ...

From all I've seen about the conversations of "socialized" medicine is that the premiums would be on a sliding scale, but it also means that those who need insurance for themselves and families. However, it won't be "forced" on anyone as ppl will have the option to either pay for the insurance offered by the government and the employer.
