Well, we have kinda a split relationship. We have a pack relationship simply because I AM alpha and my dogs WILL obey me! I need to be dominant over them at all times. If I do something they dont like, like touch their feet, it is NOT ok for them to snap at me or pull away. I need to be able to get anything from them at anytime, be it there food, their favorite toy, or a dead bird they found in the yard.

At the same time, my GSD is like my child. I love him to death, and spoit him rotten, like a kid. My father even calls me if I haven't taken my dog over to his house in a while, and he asks me "Where is my grandson? Why haven't I seen him in a week? When are you bringing my grandson by"

Lol, its kinda pathetic that my father is a 300 lb biker and acts like that, but it's cute :)

none of the above. it's more like a slave-master kind of thing. i don't see them catering to my every whim or picking up after MY poo at all. not a day goes by where they don't remind me that they are the superior ones around here, lol.

Varies by the pet.. One of my dogs, Savannah,  is the 'second in command' over the other dogs. Me and her have more of a friendship, though, I'm still the pack leader. My other two dogs are more like goofy children that need to be told to do anything and constantly protected from their own mistakes.. Thankfully Savannah mostly keeps them in line for me.

I wish I could treat them as my equals, but, quite frankly, they aren't smart enough. If I actually let them make decisions like where to play, they'd be out in the street. If I let them choose what hygiene got done, they'd have toenails that curled around because they don't like having them cut. They'd live on garbage and cat turds if I didn't stop them. .

my dog is my friend she likes it that way as do I

my horse is almost an equal,I treat him with respect and he treats me with respect,not to say i don't respect my other animals but a relationship between a horse and rider needs to be extra strong in case of emergencies especially since horses are so big...

and my ram Bubba I have a special bond with cause I have saved his life many times.....

My little Moomoo is absoloutely my baby. I spoil him to death, and in return, he loves me just like his mommy. He follows me everywhere and only me. I actually bought him with my boyfriend, but somehow, he just became really attached to me. And I don't mind it one bit (:
