Poland's Prime Minister wants the country to have more voting power in the EU to make up for Poland's small population due to Germany having reduced their population in WWII. (http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/news/article-23401261-details/We Do you agree with his reasoning?

  1. He obviously never watched Fawlty Towers....Don't Mention The War!

My friends are Polish & can't stand him or the President of Poland either.  The British tabloid press were hailing him as a hero though as they thought he'd draw attention away from the UK signing away more power with his comment.

BTW - I think the Germans are well aware of what happened in WWII.  It's not like they've ever been able to forget about it, but having said that it was over 50 years ago the war ended & so much has happened since then.

It's terrible what happened in WWII, but remarks like those of the Polish PM will not be able to change history will they?

  2. Why stop there?  If this is sound reasoning (which it clearly is not), why not go back to the beginning of European history?  Didn't the Poles slaughter the Ukrainians?  This man's statements serve as a prime example of the kind of defective thinking that has characterized Europeans for centuries.  The EU will not last and Great Britain knows it; that's why the refuse to give up the pound sterling and accept the Euro.

  3. I'm from Poland and I do not agree with PM of Poland  comment.  I’m ashamed of the government and I can’t believe that in a democratic country like Poland the PM and the president are brothers (twins)…   Only very simpleminded people agree with that comment. You should think about the comment the same way you think about some of the comments of the people who govern your country.

  4. My parents are Polish and I live in Chicago, and I am as well ashamed of the current government of Poland and I think that the comment that Leck Kaczinski made was backed with no specific reasoning, and I think using Germany's own historical demography is un-just. I think that Poland should stop wining and realize that we have killed our own share of people in our history. Poland simply must cope with it's problems, and forget about her tragic past.
