Are you from Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico?

I am going there for business... and am looking for fun things to do... cool places to visit. My trip is at the end of August.

Ohh, I´m from Torreon,  but exactly what are you looking for? some tourist places? or nightclubs? well, this is a small city, but, yes you can have fun on a weekend, and people are great!!  trust me!!, you can find casinos, restaurants, nightclubs, malls. whatever, have fun, and welcome"!

Yes... I'm here in Torreon.  Depending upon how long you are here for, and your interests, you can do a number of different things.

Eating out is always fun here.  Try Garufa, Pampas do Brasil, Figaro, or the various locations of los Farolitos or Tacos Orientales.  

Museo Arocena is a wonderful new museum and on the third floor there are some great interactive displays featuring both the history of Mexico and the history of "la Laguna," the region where Torreon is located.

Other museums include Casa del Cerro, the home of Frederic Wulff, the architect who laid out hte streets of Torreon.  There is also a Revolution Museum and several other smaller specialty museums.

If you have time to travel a bit, drive to Saltillo to visit the world-class Museo del Desierto.  Captions are in Spanish, but if you have some knowledge of Spanish (or a friend who can translate) you will enjoy this immensely.

Other possible places to visit are Mapimi and the bridge at Ojuela (an abandonned mining town) or Cuatrocienegas, an amazing isolated environment with plants and animals found nowhere else in the world.
