  1. I have lots of South African friends who have moved to New Zealand. They say they feel safer here but some found it hard to adjust to the change in lifestyle.  Many of them found the transition difficult as New Zealand is much quieter and it is a very different climate (politically, socially and weather-wise).

A few have returned to South Africa to visit family and it is only then that they realise how difficult life was for them in SA.

New Zealand is a very free and open place with a diverse range of cultures.  This has both positive and negative effects on the people.  Most immigrants feel very welcomed to our country, but I think there are also quite a few people who miss their home land.

Some New Zealander's have found it difficult to cope with the increase in overseas immigration over recent times.  It has meant our own culture has changed to accommodate the sudden influx of migrants.
