1. Fighting terrorism is not a bad thing.

2. The US economy is not collapsing.

3. The people who decide on defense budgets are not the same people who control the economy.

4. For that matter, there isn't anybody who controls the economy. It's a world marketplace in this day and age, and the strength of the economy is dependent primarily on bottom rung fluctuations. The higher ups exist only to create safeguards that prevent us from sinking into horrible steep depressions.

5. Nobody is getting screwed or conned. A weak economy affects everyone.

6. Your entire statement is incoherent. There is no connection whatsoever between preventing the deaths of innocents, the recession, and rich politicians lining their pockets at the expense of those beneath them.

I am quicker than most to point out and attempt to fix the flaws with our system of government and the way politicians run things, but your accusation makes absolutely no sense and seems to be driven more by media fueled, ignorance driven angst than any logical criticism of our country's policy.

But still, the people telling you to leave are jerks. Part of the great thing about this country is that you are able to criticize it freely while living in it- if you don't like it, you can change it instead of just leave. That's what makes us different from a lot of other countries.

You've got to be 20 years old to think THIS is what the economy looks like when it's collapsing. Under Carter we had almost twice the unemployment, more than twice the inflation, and 20% interest rates.
