I am glad it was how about you? I say this because who cares who start from 12th to 22nd? I do not really care for this seperate day so the middle of the pack can qualify. Don't you think that they would be better to have just two days of qualifying in pole day and then bump day?

  1. I was looking forward to it, but it will make this coming Saturday more exciting and then theres bump day..All the drivers got to have mothers day with their families, so I guess if was okay..So I watched the boring F1 race..

  2. I am never glad when a track event is rained out.  In this instance: Positions 12 - 22 are the body of the race.  Not everybody gets to win; and, without the others, what would you have?  (You'd have a bowl of caramel sauce with no ice cream under it.)

  3. I'm not too thrilled about it, but I have a few decent reasons:

    (1) I was there.  It was cold.  It was windy.  It was that heavy mist to a hard downpour.  It was raw.  And the weather went right through you.

    (2) The 4-day qualification process is perfect for Indy.  Why?  It's the biggest race in the world, and in Indiana, the weather is absolutely notorious in May.  What happens if an entire 2-day qualification weekend get rain - how do you set the ENTIRE field?  Can't do it on points, and the one-offs should have a say.  I think having the 4 days to fill the field is ample time to fill the field, even with a rainout, such as today.

    (3)  Look - let's be honest.  A lot of these transition drivers still need oval track time.  And today, even in between any qualification attempts that might have come, well - any time is good time spent.  To be honest, I could have probably guessed the next 11 that would have qualified, but it still would have been some good drama.

My biggest concern is this:  Those not in the lineup now will be concentrating on both race-day and qualification setups once the track reopens on Wednesday.  So - what do you do, esp. if you're a transition team, or a one-off team?  That's a tough call.  Obviously, you need to qualify, so you trim the car out as much as comfortable.  Once in, you gotta switch gears to race-day setup, and with the hit-miss time that might be used in Qual Days 3 & 4, being able to get a good full-tank run may be difficult.

Mind you - just my 2 cents.  I would have loved to see a transition driver crack the top 11 yesterday, but c'est la vie.  Now the fun really begins!  Enjoy the racing!

  4. I wasn't at all glad.  Sorely disappointed for myself and the IRL.  Its not often the IRL can be BIG DOG on a Sunday.  For that reason alone its a downer.  I also agree with all of  craqattacks pts, except I wasn't able to be there.  Hopefully this Sat & Sun will be perfect!

  5. I think a day where somebody he racing on Indianapolis is a great day

    so Im upset
