Are you going to The Canadian National Exhibition this year?

I was wanting to know if you plan on going to The Ex this year. It has been a tradition for about 130 years now and it is a very special event. But in recent years, The CNE has not been the same as it used to be. They no longer offer those free samples, or Presidents Choice products. The prices have gone up, a small slushie is $5 and a soup sample costs 50 cents. I love the Ex and I do plan to go, but i miss the nostalgic essence of the fair. I would like to hear your thoughts. I do appreciate any comments. Thank you.

No.  It lost it's appeal a long time ago.  I haven't been in about 20 years and have no plans to go this year or in the near future.

I got badly hurt there one year.  I was about 8 years old and went to see a waterbed display.  The buckle of my shoe got caught under the carpet and I fell down catching the side of my face on the end of a wooden bed frame.  I was knocked out for a few seconds and I destroyed part of my cheek bone.  They were very quick to tape that carpet down!  I think they were very worried that we would sue, but we didn't.

Heck ya i'm going to the EX. The food building is where I will be. Yes prices have gone up over the years which is to be expected. Let me just remind you of the free shows, corn dogs, waffles with ice cream, those little donuts, and not to forget beaver tails. The 10 bucks for the food alone is worth it, It puts the stampede to shame IMHO. Remember to pre buy your tickets online right now and you will save $4 per ticket on regular admission. Almost enough to buy you a slushie.
