  1. What does being happy with your life mean?  Does it mean getting everything one wants?  Whether we realize it or not, that is exactly what we think being happy means.  And, if we don't get what we want, we perceive it as unhappiness or dissatisfaction with our lives.  It is what drives us, and because we can never be fully satisfied, we are not happy.

You can look to the most wealthy people on earth and they only seem to want more, as evidenced by their continued quest for more wealth, more possessions, more attention, etc.  It really doesn't matter what anyone wants, when they get it, they will still want something more.

Humans operate under a specific program called the "will to receive."What is it we want to receive?  Anything, as long as it brings us pleasure.  We don't do anything without a calculation of how much effort we must expend to receive pleasure.  The problem is that nothing we receive brings us any lasting fulfillment.  It is all fleeting, and will never satisfy the will to receive.  It is programmed to keep us searching, acquiring, wanting more.  For example, many people think that getting married, having children and buying a house will bring them happiness.  We can do all those things, but eventually, we will want a bigger, better house, and we will be dissatisfied because our spouse and children don't quite measure up to our ideals or expectations.

There is a purpose to the program of will to receive, and it so one day we just might ask ourselves why we are always wanting more, and why nothing we "get" makes us happy or completes us.  Once we start asking that question, we start looking for the answer, and we know that there is nothing, which is to say "no thing" that will provide that answer.

Because the external world we live in will not provide the answer to this question, we must therefore begin to seek that which is within us. The answer is there, and it is why the question finally arises in us. There exists knowledge that can help anyone find the answer to this question, and having asked the question myself, I found a place to get the answer.  For me, knowing there is an answer to this question has brought me great and lasting happiness.
