  1. ...sorry, sometimes i listen to my wife...and she's not fate...

...but, if i don't do it...i know my fate for the next few days...

    ...a person's actions...

  2. i believe its a cycle of both fate and control. A person may make a decision and their deicison determines their fate. For example say a person deliberately runs offa the road. If they run into a pole, their fate is changed because it would not have happened if they didnt do that.

However some things in life (weather, illness) cannot be controlled. My dad got sick by not fault of his own and our family has to make choices based on his fate. hope that helps

  3. neither...

i don't believe in fate.  what i have experienced is chaos.  life is a lottery, no more or less random than that.

  4. I think we are in control of our lives. If you belive that fate ccontrols everything, then your not gona have truble in your life trust me.

  5. Well it depends. God gave us a free will and choice on what to do with our life. He should have total control over our life but we sometimes take the wheel from God and think we know what's best and make a big mess. Whatever we choose to do, we need to think about the consequences that comes with it. We all are guilty of making foolish mistakes then sit back and complain because of how things turn out. Then sometimes life in general changes and we cant help what life brings us but it's up to us how we handle it. Now i believe only thing we can control is our emotions and our mouth because if not put in check it can cause harm and we don't want that.

  6. some philosophies suggest that this is all illusion. the debate between fate and free will is never satisfactorily resolved. usually convincing arguments on either side are trumped by a persons beleif. from a religious view this might be considered a mystery, something that must be answered by faith and then you can both free well and an omnipotent god, at the same time.

on the other hand, i prefer to look at it that we make choices but we do not have control. that is we each make decisions, like yes or no, or whatever. but that does not necessarily mean that the outcome is certain. because if everyone is making those same choices they impact upon each other, so the result will be unpredictable. i guess i lean against the concept of "fate" since that implies that a preordained result is established. hmmm, i doubt that is true.  however, many people take great comfort in having certainty. i mean what is the point of doing something if you don't know that the result will be as promised. wow, if its totally random, what's the point right? so they have to have an overarching blueprint, where the end is predictable and that it makes no difference what chance elements are introduced.

the final analysis may not be whether fate or free will is stronger but that they coexist like night and day or the ocean and the shore. they cannot be stronger than each other, otherwise they would disappear.

  7. I believe that it's a combination. The big important events in life are predestined, however small decisions are free will. If you were meant to get in a car crash then you will get in a car crash, there's no way around it. For example, say there are two roads you could take to get to work. You choose the first road, and you get in an accident. If you were to have chosen the other road you still would've gotten into the accident, but you had the free will to choose which road it happened on. So basically we have the ability to choose what we want to but we will still have the same results that are predestined.

  8. i dont know about others but in my case fate is playing crucial role ....whatever i plan fate leaves me in lurch ...and if i dont plan fate compells me to act in such a way that i get completely exhausted by my life...i am so confused.

  9. Right now I have very little control of my life.  I cannot land a permanent job to save my soul right now and I have no idea why.  I've always been able to, I have plenty of marketable skills, an excellent resume, I'm a good worker, a good person, I'm not asking to make millions, I'm willing to work, I've applied all over town, have job alerts on the computer, check the paper every week....but for all this effort I am still just spinning my wheels waiting for some sort of break to get me out of the mud.  My only option was to do temp work with a temp agency and luckily they have been able to find me assignments week by week to help me bring in a little money.  THEY are the ones finding the work though, so they are in control.  I can only say yes or no to the option and right now no is not even an option for me.  Am I fated to struggle and ultimately fail here in Vegas and be forced to move away?  Time will tell......

  10. If you are in control of your life you are doing the will of God and this is your destiny and fate.

  11. fate and your actions go hand in hand.

if you have the choice to drink orange juice or milk in the morning you will still go off the the same job when you are done. but that cute guy you've been hoping will ask you out will keep walking if you spilled milk on your shirt. the orange juice would have dried up.

  12. Fate is all. Your actions are destined. Free will is sillier than the tooth Fairy. At least your parents PRETEND to be the TF. Nobody is pretending you have free will.

  13. Of all the fateful events that overtake us daily we hope at times when we decide to use our free will that all will come out OK  We are subjected to so many refractions that when we do manage to reflect on some of those refractions and if we manage to objectify sufficiently to at least consider the options available and hopefully we are free enough to will a sufficient determination for ourselves.  And that too can be a fateful event in the life of anyone.

  14. fate

no one has complete control of their life or the things that happen in it

  15. When something else controls or you think controls your life, you are suffering.

  16. I think it's more along the lines of how it went in The Matrix movies. You have free will, but according to the way you are, you would make the same choices every time. This hints at predestination or fate of some sort but you are still the decision maker. Sometimes though, things just are what they are. If you jump off a cliff, you're not going to fly and fate'll kill ya.
