  1. I absolutely love it. I grew up in America, but my father was Irish, so it reminds me of him. When I go, I get to see an entire side of my family and history that wasn't readily available throughout childhood.

  2. Go for it! There is a thatched cottage (new thatch in '02-they last 50 years) for sale near Ashford cottage for under 80,000Euros. You could always rent it out to tourists if you changed your mind. It's my dream to live in Ireland. I've been obsessed for 30 years. Have only been there twice but i feel like i belong there. But alas, i'm not rich enough to just move and not brave enough to quit my job and start all over "over there". But if you don't have a family to support you should look into it-or many years down the road you'll be saying "shoulda, woulda, coulda". ..............from celticregina

  3. the buetifull green rolling hills the lovely daily sprinkles of rain all the mountain little brooks and stream and the costal regions and all the people that you could meet. I miss it so much and cant wait till i can go back You will love it.

  4. I've been twice, to visit friends who live there.   And I look forward to visiting again...it's a beautiful place, but no more beautiful than my home state of Michigan.

The up side is the (relative to the U.S.) low crime rate; the down side is the enormously high cost of living, especially in housing.   For what you'd pay for an ordinary house there, one could buy a palace here.

The people are absolutely lovely, not really outgoing and bubbly like Americans, but kind and polite.   I think it's a myth that it rains all the time in Ireland; I didn't see any more rain that at home.   I really think it's green from all those sheep!

It would certainly be a pleasant place to live...but I don't think it would ever be like home.

  5. I live in Ireland ever since I was a baby. I kinda love it because of the perfect weather. Its nice and calm, not that much people. I had to learn irish and irish dancing. Irish dancing is okay. If u are moving then got a house that has a perfect view and nice weather.

  6. No. I am in love in Barbados, even though I don't live there, I used to temporarily.

  7. I kinda love the Irish music.  Sounds thrilling.  But Ireland I havnet really seen how it looks.  Is it all green and wet?

  8. I have been in love with Ireland my entire life!!!  My mom and I visited for seven days last April and I'm ready to go back!!!  I have Irish ancestry and have always felt a kinship with Ireland like maybe I lived there in a past life.  I wanted to move there after my children were grown up but know I'm getting married and I guess I'm giving up one dream to have another!!!

  9. there's a spare room in my house in Dublin if you want it hahahahaha, hopefully you will love Ireland as much as we do, and it is a great place to bring up kids too, and you can't buy the culture that we have, although I myself wouldn't mind living in Hong Kong for a few years, it's much more fast paced than here, and Irish weather can be a pain at the best of times too,  hope you come here and fall in love with the place

  10. Elaine.....take me with you.....please..please..please.

I have always had a love for Ireland......would love to spend time over there.

Gotta love the redheads too...my personal fav.
