Are you issued uniforms when joining the Army Reserve?

My friend is joining the Army Reserves and wanted to know whether they are issued a free set of cammis, boots, etc upon joining and going to boot camp or do they need to buy their own set of everything. Thanks in advance for ur help.

  1. once they go to BCT they get everything issued to them boots ACU's socks hats socks name tapes and everything that is absolutely needed but if it'll be awhile before he ships then they might just give him a set of pt's


  2. There free they issue 4 sets amd 2 pair of boots and class A&B dress uniforms

  3. yes they will receive the basic issue items...one thing to tell your friend is that i see people all the time that join the reserve then decide to go active duty...and they lost out on the enlistment bonus the gi bill...just depends on what they got in their contract for joining the reserves...well tell them i said thanks for serving...and god bless.
