Are you leary about eating in buffet restaurants?

I am more than leary, but what is really the difference?  Do you think that the 16 year olds in McDonald's making $7/hour care what falls in your food, and it's all covered up by that special sauce.

Actually, my worry is the freshness of the food. A friend once said they put every bit of food that didn't sell during the week on the Sunday brunch buffet. Yuck.

A buffet is not my first choice due to the various things that people leave behind on the food.  There are more and more instances of illness after eating a buffet meal that it is becoming a hazard.  Personally I'd just order something fresh cooked thanks, may cost more but at least I know it hasn't been sitting out for a couple of hours.

No, if they're a well know restaurants, but if they're a small restaurant then kind of.

Yes, I am.  At one time it didn't bother me, but it does not.   I don't even use the salad bars at any of the restaurants anymore.  Too many kooks and weirdos now-a-days.

The only buffet I really eat at is Cici's. With cici's you can see everything going on, plus they will always make whatever pizza you want.

I don't worry about the stuff you mentioned too much (especially lost contact lenses--I've never even thought of it. I seriously doubt it happens often), but I am a little leery when it comes to freshness. If the restaurant gets a lot of business so fresh food has to be put out often, then I don't worry. When the restaurant is slow, however, and the food just sits there for hours... yuck.
