Jesus is worthy of our maximum service. As Jesus sat in the house of Simon the leper a woman named Mary came in with an alabaster box.She broke open the box and poured it on the feet of Jesus, wiping His feet with her hair. Here was maximum service. She did not have to do this, but she done it anyway. She was blessed for all eternity. Jesus said "She hath done what she could ". Are we to do any less for the One who died for us? Should not we do all that we can?

  1. I just want to live my life doing God's Will.  When He looks at me, I want Him to see a faithful servant, a follower of His Word, a member of His Holy Family.

  2. Treat Gods children they way he wishes them to be treated, with kindness, compassion and helpfulness.  Do not judge others.  I fowu help othrs, you are helping to gain entrance into the kingdom of heaven.

  3. To avoid heavy risk I choose in between.

  4. I don't believe that scripture teaches we enter heaven through our own efforts. If that were true Jesus would have never needed to die for our sins. We should be serving and loving our brother because we love them and out of love and obedience to the Lord. There is a verse in scripture that seems to make sense when thought of in this light. Jesus said a day would come when some would say to him Lord Lord we did this and that in your name and Jesus said depart from me you workers of iniquity. Then Jesus received others and told them you visited me when I was in jail etc. these people were unaware of their good deeds and said Lord when were you in prison etc. And Jesus told them that if you did it for the least of these you did it for me. Our motivation should be because we truly love these people not because we are earning our way into heaven.

  5. I know that we cant buy our way to heaven, or earn our way in.  But I want to do as God says because I love Him and trust that He knows what is best in everything.    I also know He loves me as I am,but He loves me too much to allow me to stay as I am.  HE wants us growing and learning more of Him every day and using that that we do learn

God says Faith without works is dead, but itchy ears call that legalism.   NO, God says to obey.  ITs only when you obey God to try and buy your way into heaven, that it becomes legalism.

But,  what I see with most ppl is that they will seek to find just how little they can do for God to squeeze thru those pearly gates and count on grace to cover all continued, wilful , deiberate sin.   Which is just aother iie of the devil that YOU WONT SURELY DIE>

God commands obedience, that we live as Jesus lived, period.

and yes it can be done, by the power of the Holy Spirit, by living the full word of God in perfect obedience.

MY question daily is  WHAT MORE CAN  I DO FOR YOU GOD?

That thought should be on the hearts minds, and lips of every truly born again child of God.

Thanks for another great question.     God bless ya

  6. Neither. I live my life to the best of my ability, be it good or bad, and within the law. The only judge i'm remotely worried about wears a black robe.

  7. I may be on the wrong track here (wouldn't be the first time) but I suspect Don already knows that salvation is a free gift and we cannot earn it by good deeds, etc. I used to think that going to heaven was the 'reward' Christians looked forward to. Then I read 1 Cor. 3:10-15 where Paul talks about building on the foundation of Jesus Christ and says that our building work 'will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man's work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames."

This brings us to Revelation and the judgement seat of Christ. You see, I thought heaven was the reward. Wrong. It's the "Well done, good and faithful servant" blessing to those whose lives on earth brought glory and honour to God.

If I were before the judgement seat right now, I'd be ashamed of what little I have done to witness to Christ since I've become a Christian. I know I cannot earn salvation - it's a free gift - but I also know that my primary objective is to serve the Lord NOW and glorify his name. In this, I am found wanting.

A timely reminder to us all as we look back on this current year and look forward to the next one.

  8. max u can do is serve the humanity...

  9. I'm already in.  I just want to serve.

  10. Good works alone do not get you into Heaven. I feel, it's always good to do as much as you can, whatever that is. The minimum or the max is situational.

  11. Our salvation depends solely upon Jesus Christ. He is our substitute, taking sin’s penalty (2 Corinthians 5:21); He is our Savior from sin (John 1:29); He is the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). The work necessary to provide salvation was fully accomplished by Jesus Himself, who lived a perfect life, took God’s judgment for sin, and rose again from the dead (Hebrews 10:12).

The Bible is quite clear that our own works do not help merit salvation. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done” (Titus 3:5). “Not of works” (Ephesians 2:9). “There is none righteous, no not one” (Romans 3:10). This means that offering sacrifices, keeping the commandments, going to church, being baptized, and other good deeds are incapable of saving anyone. No matter how “good” we are, we can never measure up to God’s standard of holiness (Romans 3:23; Matthew 19:17; Isaiah 64:6).

  12. Hello Don

The good news is that you and I don't have to do the work that makes it possibe for us to go to heaven. Jesus Christ already did that.   We can not do enough good to earn heaven because we also sin and sin separates us from God but Jesus Christ came to eartl, lived without sin, and became a sacrifice for our sin.

Just as if someone put a million dollars in the bank in your name you have to accept it and acknowledge that it is yours to get any benefit from it.  It's the same way with the way ti heaven Jesus gave you.  You have to accept it for it to be yours and be a benefit to you.   For more info on that please see http://appalachianfoothills.tripod.com/i...

  13. So are you going to give up all your worldly goods in service of the Lord? Somehow, I think you have a nice car and clothes. Huckster.

  14. We don't merit Heaven on our own.

  15. "You can not be saved by works alone"

I'm just grateful that He gives us Mercy and Grace and His Son for our salvation...

  16. We are going to be rewarded for the deeds we did while in the body.  Some will have more rewards than others.

  17. That is a rather silly question ,probably derived from some sort of ego play in that your answer is the latter
