Are you making a roast today?

I've just put mine in and am counting down the hour and a half. Sunday roasts have to be the best thing about Sunday.

  6. No roast today. Another southerner - love those fried chickens on Sunday. Today, though the sun is shining and it's a great day to grill. Steak, baked potatoes, salad and hot dogs. The hot dogs right off the grill before dinner - appetizer. yum!

  10. Remember the Sunday roast fondly, but no, today is meat loaf day and it is unusually good. Diced green peppers and pimentos very fine in it and looks pretty and tastes good.

  13. It's a big pot of chicken and rice for me today.  I'll eat it for a week, but that's OK.  I love it.

  14. Wish I was.  My life partner died 7 years ago.  I am alone now,  Lost our house and most of my things.  I live in a one room apt, with a small kitchen.  I no longer cook.

    Wish I was invited over to be with family for this holiday weekend, but I'm not.  So, I am here on yahoo answers and making the best of it.  I will do a small steak later.

Ummm, just the thought of a garlic laden piece of roast makes me want to run out & grab a piece of meat again.  Ho-Hum...all I have is a memory of a nice slice of medium rare meat, so I'll have a nice mushroom veggie burger & clean like I do every Sunday.  My room is a mess.  Think of me when you chew the fat, ok?  Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy!

    Roast beef, roast potatoes (done in the beef fat), yorkshire puddings, peas and carrots.

    Mmmmm....Sundays......

  17. It sure is the best thing about Sunday dinner. We did that a lot when I was younger, but not so much anymore. But it sure was a nice happy family gathering.

  19. No.  I made some lamb chops, corn on the cob, and sweet potato.  And, for dinner I'm having a baby spinach salad with hard boiled egg, bacon bits, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, parmesan cheese and roasted pine nuts and a few mandarin orange slices.  Then pico de gallo and corn chips.

  20. Oh I totally agree with you.When I was a kid my mom would make a nice oven roast and she always cooked it to perfection; med. rare, mashed potatoes w home made gravy with the pan juices. Nowadays, My roast is boneless chuck on top of the stove. My specialty.Everyone I know  enjoys it, and I enjoy cooking for them too! By the way, I made one last week so not today, but I'll be thinking of you later on when you take that first bite!
