  1. I do not live there, but I live where earthquakes happen infrequently. I am still prepared, I have four bottles of water, money, two sets of clothing, four sets of underwear, comb, brush, and soap. I also have a flashlight, battery operated radio, and blankets. I am preparing to purchase a tent, and hibachi.

Thick-soled shoes are good and maybe some water proof boots.

Include a thick coat, gloves, and hat in case you can not find shelter. Also get a rolling cart or a hiker's backpack to put your stuff in.

  2. We don't have that type of weather to worry about, but we have prepared for a natural disaster with everything we would need for at least two weeks. Our whole town has.

We have earth quakes an occasional funnel cloud and snow storms and thunder storms that knock out our power.

Better to be safe than sorry.

I do know if I lived in the hurricane zones, I would move elsewhere.

I wouldn't stay where I had to rebuild year after year.

I pray for those who are in harms way.

    DeeJay.

  3. No.

  4. I have never had to prepare for a hurricane. I would imagine that it would be unnerving, and especially if you weren't prepared.

  5. I'm in S.E. Virginia...5 miles south of the Chesapeake Bay, 3 miles west of the Atlantic Ocean.  Nope, not making any preparations.

  6. Is that some sort of special senior ?. But nope not making any preparations, no need to don't believe in them.

  7. I live on the Gulf coast of Florida.  We are always "hurricane ready".  We have all the things that you need after a hurricane strikes.

I have a list of things I have to do beforehand if we have to evacuate.  I also have of list of the things I need to pack.

I have been through 3 hurricanes and a tornado.

  8. I live on the east coast and always try to get ready if it comes our way. In NC we have had our share of hurricanes, some mild and some like Hazel that blew 15 large oak trees down around our house when I was growing up. We filled the bath tub with water, batten down anything that could blow away. brought all porch and lawn furniture into the shed behind our house, got out oil lamps and matches. If it came directly at us, we brought in the dog and got in the hall closet which was in the middle of the house.  And waited.   poppy

  9. No as I live in California, but last summer we were crossing from Texas into Oklahoma and got into the worst storm in my life {and that is a long time} Found a camp ground as quick as we could. My son got the R.V. set up and the Grand kids turned on the TV. Every station had hurricane warning in such and such counties. I asked my son if he knew what county we were in, No he didn't so he put on the rain gear and braved the storm to the office. He told the manager his mom could handle earthquakes, but not hurricanes. The manager said we were having a warning, he would monitor it all night and if necessary would beat on RV doors and everyone would go to the basement under the office. Fortunately that never happened, but we rocked and rolled all night. That is as close as I EVER want to be to a hurricane..

  10. Thank God I don't live on the Gulf.  But I think the mid-west will get the bulk of some rain from it.  We always do.  they get the hit and it makes the rain hit us hard.Since I'm the 2 nd street from the river it gets a little scary at times. All I can do is pray for them and I can assure this I'm doing.  I feel pain for them.

  11. I live in Indiana. What's a hurricane?
