Are you more Likely to get hit by lightning moving around or in one place?

If you were walking around your house...are you less likely to get hit by lightning if you were sitting on the couch.

  1. It doesn't make a difference whether or not you're moving our staying still. If you're in your house, it's very unlikely you'll get struck by lightning. People get hit by lightning when they are the tallest thing in the area, say a field or meadow. Your house and your car are the safest places you could be during a lightening storm. Chances are your house is shorter than most trees and if you live in an apartment building or hotel, it probably has a lightening rod at the top to absorb the electricity.  


  2. I doubt that moving versus remaining stationary has any significant effect on the likelihood of being struck by lightning. On the other hand, where you are does have some effect. You would be safer with a lightning rod...
