In this case, citizens of Russia only trust russian sources, 1st channel, ORT, etc. and of course they believe what their government tells them. according to ORT, georgians bombed their own cities, and the russian pilots from the knocked down warplane were just imagination of saakashvili. how can anyone with common sense belive that? but I already said, people can't think independently, they only repeat what they hear...

Georgia did not attack Russia. and South Ossetia has always been part of Georgia. During the years of the reign of Soviet regime, communists started installing ethnic ossetians from North ossetia to the territory called South Ossetia nowadays (originally called Samachablo), that was the first step taken by red russia to prepare a potential "timer bomb"in Georgian territory. when Georgia gained independence, with great help and support of Russia, separatists escalated conflict and managed to drive georgian forces out of the region. Since than russian "peacekeepers" have been in the region to provide protecttion for the reign of sepaartists in south ossetia.

For the last two months there was intense shooting from south ossetian side towards georgian villages. Saakashvili asked them to stopseveral times, warned them, tried to make them stop with peaceful  means, but they would not stop. The only way to protect georgian civilians and restore constitutional oder in the region - was what saakshvili did.

Russia just had to stay out of it. Separatists were defeated and there was no threat was ossetian people in the region, when russians attacked and with their aviation destroyed city of Tskhinvali, killing georgian soldiers as well as peaceful ossetians.

Even now, when it's been more than 24 hours after Medvedev declared about quitting military operation in Georgia, russian troops are still in georgian territory, far from the conflict zone and they continue to move in closer. Since Medvedev's announcement, russian aviation bombed pipeline, hospital, and couple of villages. you people are just blind not to see this
