Though I'm Utopian, I must admit I loathe this special occasion! Perhaps I've been burned too many times with romantic love. Or it's the commercialism that tries to guilt everyone into buying stuff for your mates. Actually, I think it just reminds me that my cat isn't a very good substitute for a good snog!

  1. A good snog eh>?

Well i for one hate valentine's day just because if i liked it then I would be forced to have expectations of the ideal holiday, only to have someone break in to my Utopia and burst my proverbial bubble...

  2. Valentine's Day should be a day to remember and be thankful for those you love.  I've never even thought that you need to have a significant other to celebrate love.  However, if you don't feel like celebrating, don't.  And forget feeling guilty about it either!  I agree with you, the commercialism associated with Valentine's Day is pretty atrocious.

P.S. Although a good make-out session is always nice, I'm sure your cat has many good qualities :)

  3. I still live with my mum and dad, and it is vomit-inducing to watch your parents being all over each other, not to mention highly embarrassing, lol.

Apologies to all parents out there, but I think most teenagers feel the same as me at some point in their lives!

  4. Like Christmas, it has become too commercialised.  We refuse to buy cards/flowers/chocolates at inflated prices to feed the manufacturers greed!

We also don't need a "special" day to let each other know how we feel about one another...we do it every day!

    Edit

flamebolt666...if your parents hadn't been all over each other at some point in the past then you would not be here to say how vomit indicing your parents actions are...

  5. How about I hate it because my divorce went thru Tuesday, I had jury duty today, and then its V-Day.  I think I have enough reasons to start drinking now...

  6. I have no use for it, but I'm a single guy so that's no shocker.  I am surprised the "War on Christmas" crowd isn't up in arms that it's not referred to as SAINT Valentine's Day anymore.
