  1. yes

  2. yay...sometimes..

  3. no i think not. from the place where i came from tingi is a funny word.

  4. I grew up with it. Let's face it, it's convenient. For example, if you are stressed and you want a bottle of beer, just go to the nearest convenience store and buy one. Here in the US, you would need to buy a 6 pack.. which will cause you to drink more and spend more.

    I definitely miss it.

  5. sometimes

  6. what's that?

  7. Only in the province because there are numerous "sari-sari" stores near where I grew up.  There, I can buy

    - a pack of chips like Mr. Chips, Tostillas or Nova

    - a piece of candy like Mentos

    - a piece of ice candy or ice

    - an 8oz bottle of Coke (can be transferred in a cellophane)

    - a "lapad" of cooking oil (the tingi ones are in ice candy wrappers)

    - a pencil or pen or bond paper

    - a box of matches

One can basically buy anything in lesser quantities in the "sari-sari" store or in a town or barrio's cooperative.

Here in Manila, since there are no "sari-sari" stores near our apartment, I buy by bulk in groceries / malls.

  8. not really. i usually buy in bulks. i hate doing the groceries. hehe

  9. Filipinos are.  And consumer companies see the need and make a profit out of this by coming out with sachet and other small packaging... Even coming out with cigarettes in sachets, hehe

  10. i own a sari sari store in the province...

tingi is the trend among my customers...

  11. I haven't heard that word before and I have no idea what is it..
