Are you people allowed to walk through a drive through?

Question

when there is a drive through window,are people allowed to walk through it to get their food?is it illegal?i know you could just go in and get food,but i was just wondering.

Next time you go thru a drive thru look on the swingy windows where you pay, some of them actually have notices posted that say" For our employees saftey, walk-ups are not allowed at the drive-thru" our local McDonalds have these.

They did an episode of this on Curb Your Enthusiasm.They wouldn't let him do it,so he flagged down the car of a stranger going thru,and got in his car,it was funny.Doesn't make sense.They should allow it.

i guess you could, but why waste the effort?? besides, you could get hit by a car going around the corner too fast. and you might not weigh enough to trigger the loudspeaker thing.

Some stores around here you can do it but usually it just pisses the tellers off and they tell you to leave. Don't ask me how i know this ;)

I dont think its illegal. But go ahead and do it. its your choice if you want to get run over by a car. i never seen people do that though..

I don't think it's illegal but most restaurants would refuse to take your order since you are on foot.  They would tell you that you need to come in to order your food.

In most cases, there will be a sign that states walk-ups cannot be served at the drive through for safety reasons.

I would walk up now and then while on duty but only because the ambulance wouldn't fit through the drive through...too tall and too wide. After a while, EMTs learn which ones we can fit through and which ones we can't.

We would get our food and drinks but we would also get some funny looks.

tryed one nite after leaving the bar, went to taco bell and only the drive thru was open, and we walked through it, and NO they wouldnt serve us.!!!! dont understand why not. 1am, the inside was closed, and we were drunk, and not driving!!!!!

People tried it when I worked in fast food and we wouldnt let em, they said it was some safety thing, but def was not aloud

No. You must have a vehicle to utilise the drive through. Also you would not weigh enough to trigger the speaker/microphone for them to take your order.
